if it’s anything like the security tag removers you’re “safe” to touch it but it is terrifying ![]()
Based purely off the image I’d say:
1- Hell no not touching either
2- Probably roughly similar strength.

BIM400 has been AWESOME for holding screws, nails, etc for home improvement
Better views of the same thing!
Wassat?
Seems like a cochlear implant magnet
Yeah they have a magnet implant component used to couple / mount the device to the head. What cracks me up is the note at the end;
I seriously doubt many MR techs would run a procedure with any magnet installed, and clearly this note is showing patients with this implant are having a tough time getting procedures done.
Ham is spot on, it’s part of Cochlear’s BAHA system. Second from the left, but with the little nub cut off:
That black squishy ferrite doped polymer disc between the device and the magnet is part of the reason why tissue necrosis isn’t as bad a problem with these vs people wanting to “stick” stuff to their skin with smaller biohacking magnets. The other reason is size… distributing force across a much wider area reduces absolute force at any given point across the surface.
I bought a cheap compass for showing off and fidgeting. Now I just need a magnet implant.
This is one big fucker…. Prototype m-series bar magnet. 4.5x4.5x27mm encapsulated. Doing my best to not play with it (obviously not very well).
What install method was used? Custom 4G needle?
IIRC, 12ga piercing needle opened up a bit with a scalpel
I didn’t think that I would be fancying the idea of magnet implants… Dangerous Things… stop it!
The xG3 v2 looks awesome and im so tempted… keep the photos coming and I might just get one myself… ![]()
Aw come on, you already want one, just order already ![]()
