Oh that was pretty nice actually.

I wonder how this is calculated. DMs? Likes?

Yes, I’m a self aware cyborg…

:emoji_laughing: :robot_windows:

And I’m very active on DThub!

I’ll admit that Amal is indeed a great friend! Even if he’s that friend who constantly gets under your skin…

This is nice:

So that character has the opposite morality of Amal…

It was a metaphor for Micron and Samsung right now. The setting does reflect DT though, so I understand the comparison.

Reverse HOW THE F*CK ARE YA post…

Been chatting privately with a few people on the forum lately and peppering a few public appearances. I’ve missed being on here regularly, y’all are a good bunch. Just been really busy and stressed lately and checking the forums regularly fell a bit on my priority list. (That’s not to say that you guys aren’t important to me. :slight_smile:)

How is everyone? What have I missed? Where do I jump back in? :stuck_out_tongue:

In the U.S. A single serving, or a standard serving .6 oz / 14 grams. I think it used to be 1/2 oz, but got metrified at some point.

As far as I know, (I’m not a drinker), the only time it gets used is in how many drinks / servings of alchohol per hour = D.U.I. So X beers, and Y shots = Z servings + :sport_utility_vehicle: = :police_car: + :man_judge: = Go straight to Jail. Do not pass Go, Do not collect 200 Dollars.

haha shit.. I didn’t know this.. and I think it’s liable to trigger another kind of ā€œAnything but metricā€ debate.. but apparently;

In the U.S., instead of ā€œunits,ā€ they use

ā€œStandard Drinks,ā€ defined as 0.6 fluid ounces (or 14 grams) of pure alcohol, which equals a 12oz 5% beer, a 5oz 12% wine, or a 1.5oz 80-proof spirit shot, though actual servings vary, especially with higher ABV wines and liquors, making standard drinks a key tool for understanding actual intake.

apparently you can make it public (as I’ve done)

I have that same sit at least once a week :slight_smile: Welcome to the club hahah

I did that too. Just haven’t figured out (or even looked that hard) at how to see someone else’s.

ok.. so the plugin is called ā€œTextifyā€ as in ā€œI gotta textify!ā€

Instead of setting a user profile preference which was actually kinda hard to deal with, now each topic has a ā€œTextifyā€ button at the bottom;

You can click that to open a new page that renders the entire topic (all posts) as one long markdown stream. Use with caution.. extremely large topics like this one here will take a very long time to load.

Alternatively you can simply append ā€œ/textā€ to the end of a topic URL to achieve the same thing.

bugs

I know the render is not perfect.. there are some bugs.. particularly with bold / alt text formatting, usernames, html anchors, etc.. but the main body content of each post should be clean and easy to copy / paste or whatever. Future updates coming.. maybe :wink:

nm i squashed em. if you notice any bugs let me know.

There’s no easy link on user profiles and such, so you can either share it manually, or edit the URL if you know that a rewind is public:

Here’s mine for example:

And here’s Amal’s:

Edit:

I found the link on the profile page:

That link is pretty hidden but it’s on every profile. Of course if the user has it set to private, you’ll get an error.

In a medium that is based on long form text, a contributor should be able to access their contributions easily, preferably in the original format and with the responses as well. This is pretty self-evident I think, because they may want to alter them and use them somewhere else, or send them with the responses to another party to get feedback, or any number of legitimate purposes.

The Discourse UI makes this difficult to do because of the way the interface is designed. You can go to a specific comment of yours, but if you try to select and scroll down the page, if won’t let you copy it. That was the specific use that I was using as an example for why this is a bad design.
