to be clear, is the problem just not seeing the LED or is it also not actually reading? when was the NExT v2 installed?
Installed on july 2nd, reads perfectly fine on samsung z flip 6 with the case off, no read with the case on. I also have an iphone 12 mini I was able to test with and that reads it just fine with and without a case.
The testing card lights up from the z flip 6 with its case on, but the range is significantly worse, so my guess is its a combination of the chip being a little deep (and it probably is still healing because itâs so fresh) and the case being thick.
It does feel pretty fully healed though, I think its deep becuase it settled down deeper into my hand than where it was during the first week of healing, and sometimes I have to push the implant up in the install channel if I want to see the light from it better. Even when its that deep though it reads fine with the iphone, flipper zero and caseless z flip
Still rests his hand on a hot barrel though. ![]()
still pretty fresh. give it until aug 2nd at least before considering depth an issue.
is the case metallic in any way or contain ferrous materials perhaps? you can estimate the thickness of the case, then use paper to simulate the thickness. place the paper over your implant and scan without the case on. this will tell you if itâs distance or distance + material causing the issue.
do you mean the xFD keychain or the RDC card? If you mean the actual card, this is not an apples to apples comparison and is kind of useless here. The RDC is only for detecting frequency and duty cycle, not really range / performance of x-series implants. Thatâs what the xFD keychain is for.
Speaking of the xFD, the other use itâs designed for is finding the correct orientation to present your x-series implant to your phone with, not just the location. Have you narrowed down the correct sweet spot and orientation on your particular phone using this tool yet?
I wouldnât push your implant around until itâs fully healed (after at least 30 days, if not 60). Doing so may cause it to never actually encapsulate properly and remain loose in the fascia tissue.
haha yeah.. i probably would be thinking about other things too after surviving that idiot.
Iâm thinking itâs collective idiocy, perhaps. From what I gather, itâs a helicopter based weapon that has been pedestal mounted in a truck bed to shoot drones with. You know, the good âol fill-the-sky-with-lead plan. This was probably the first (and last) testfire. Anywho, the mount is not on centerline with the axis of the gun, and itâs pretty obvious that chunkin that much high speed lead is gonna have an âequal and opposite reactionâ.
Iâd bet this is the russian equivalent of some hillbillies just grey taping and bailing wiring whatever weapons they can scrounge.
And nobody thought about the thrust, that that thrust was off center, that there was nothing but a 130lb of private to keep it in check.
I donât think a massive massive man couldâve held it.
Thatâs why ya gotta test fire em hahah
The gun itself has hardly any weight to it, designed to be aircraft mounted, about 45kg including the mount; however it gives a massive 1.4 tonnes of kickback force. Itâs designed to be shot from a mechanical placement inside an aircraft, not fired by human hands from the back of a road vehicle or in a static placement, It needs mass behind it.
Pure idiocy IMO.

Perfluorodecalin (CââFââ) is a synthetic fluorocarbonâa derivative of decalin where all hydrogen atoms are replaced by fluorine. It is a clear, odorless, and colorless liquid that is famous for its remarkable ability to dissolve and transport large amounts of respiratory gases, like oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Interesting.

Now if I could only get my hands on genuine Mitutoyos⊠There are so many fakes out there, and the local distributor doesnât sell to individuals. Idiots!

Oh, and Iâm also going to need a micrometer at some point.
Do you have any advice, @ODaily?
Electric or mechanical?
I really like dial caliper
Starret isnât what it once was. For mics anyway (my opinion). Iâd go Mitutoyo.
Absolutely get carbide faces. Do NOT skimp on this.
Getting one with .0001 graduations is almost the same price as .001 graduation. Get the .0001 unit. You might or might not use it, but if the price is basically the same, why not get more capability.
Ratchet or friction is a personal choice, I feel I do better with friction.
IF, you need a range of sizes 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, etc⊠Donât get the set with one micrometer and changeable stems. Every time you change the stem, you risk mis-setting it. Get the set with a range of micrometers that STAY SET.
Consider getting a set of these anvil balls that make measuring curved parts easy. NOTE, they come in three anvil/stem sizes, either .200â .250â or .270â, make sure to match your mic(s).
All this applies to mechanical micrometers, thereâs a little overlap with digital ones. But Iâm old, and cranky, and I find the mechanical to be more reliable, and in the hands of someone with attention to detail, more accurate.
