Holy ***! Noooo, not a dull scalpel, that would just hurt like f *
The cuts are made with a very sharp scalpel (Arnulf used 8 or 9 blades, if I remember it correctly), in this case luckily without skin removal (I was a bit afraid of that…), so, just simple, deep cuts. Feels kinda nice…
The circles are made with a 3mm-dermal punch, simply a tool to punch holes through skin or ears, feels not too bad either.
The little holes at the ends are made with a 1,6mm-dermal punch with complete skin removal, and they hurt like a bitch. I’ve counted - got 25 of them, and that was the least funny part of it all

edit:

And thank you - I’m eternally grateful for my artist, he designed it and brought it into my body

I’m suprised the little circles are doing so well. I would’ve figured the skin in the middle to wilt / die out.

Reminds me of the vivokey logo.

Assuming he is your artist. Does he just specialize in body mods? I’d love to get something like this done but would have no idea where to look.
Also did you have numbing or was it just cold turkey?

Yeah, was a bit afraid of that, too, because I know from brandings that the skin shouldn’t be completely bordered or else it might die out. But my artist said I’ll be fine, so…^^

The best I ever met. He does a freakin’ lot of piercings and everything special - scarification, implants (silicone and chips), tongue splitting and everything you might come up with^^ Link to his studio is in my profile, and I recommend him a lot. Just a great person.

Ah, not for something like that, the pain is seriously not worse than being tattoed (mostly).

Might have to make a trip to Cologne this summer (provided travel restrictions are lower)

Great idea  Just make an appointment in advance, he’s sometimes quite busy… did you look at his work?
And may I ask what you’re planning?

Definitely will plan ahead, gonna start figuring out where I’ll be staying and such (If you have any recommendations lmk)
I looked at his work through their webpage and facebook. I’d love to get some sort of circuit board looking scarification design. Any excuse to travel  It’ll be the first country I’ve gone to outside of North America
Might have to brush up on some German
Their shading work on these tattoos is amazing, can’t get stuff like that in my state.

That’s actually funny - I came up with this idea, and he was so freakin’ happy to finally have a customer who wants that… It was on his mind for quite some time, but nobody was interested. And now he made mine, and suddenly there is a second one who likes that style

Ah, Cologne is easy, there are lots of hotels in every price range, provided you book some time in advance. Might be a good idea to plan a 2-3 days stay afterwards at least (maybe even a week or so), for a fresh scarification might not be so good when sitting in a plane for lots of hours… they don’t require that much aftercare, but cleaning twice a day is necessary, and traveling a lot might just be too much stress.

Might help outside of the studio, but don’t worry about Arnulf - he has traveled a lot and worked internationally, so he’s totally fine with speaking English

My, my, @ODaily, you sure are that guy
It looks like it’s going well. I would probably never consider this for myself though - too much wound care

Oh yeah I will absolutely be staying just to enjoy my time there a bit. I mean I will be of legal drinking age

That’s great to hear, still don’t want to come off as the ignorant American  gonna try to learn some basic stuff so I won’t have to whip out google translate so often

Nah, rubbing some soap across it, dabbing on some vaseline and wrapping it up again, once in the morning, once in the evening - not thaaat much care required actually
If that’s the only thing that keeps you from getting one…

He has worked with a lot of Americans, too :stuck_out_tongue: Guess as long as you are friendly, he doesn’t really care about the language you use^^

If you are of legal bodymodding age, you will be of legal drinking age, too, yeah

That being said, I’d need some good bar recommendations as well
Currently looking at a travel guide and it has me quite excited

But only for afterwards - no drinking before modding! :stuck_out_tongue:
Since I’m usually very sober before I go there and very very lightheaded afterwards, I usually don’t visit bars there; but I saw a lot of them, I guess you’ll find something nice

I learned this all too well after passing out from a mere stick and poke.
I’ll save my drinking for the night after when I go out to see music or what have you.

:+1:
Additionally, it makes the blood thinner - and believe me, a scarification can bleed a little

It does indeed - and any old NFC transponder out there in fact, since it works with UIDs

I think we need to see if the scarification causes some sagging further down. Mind posting a picture?

I doesn’t :stuck_out_tongue:
