Since it mentions a person who experiences loss of sight later in life increasing their chances of developing schizophrenia, I think blinding a schizophrenic would probably make things worse.

Insurance is a long tedious process with unclear outcomes, as expected.
The island is ok, some beaches got destroyed and a couple towns partially flooded but no deaths or anything. Most of the cleanup has already been done.

We cleaned up the shop in the next couple days and now it’s open. But all the paint and furniture that we invested in recently is now either worn down or destroyed so it’s a bit heartbreaking.

Financially it also a big blow for my parents since the economy never really recovered after covid and this is just making things worse.

But overall it could have been much worse. Things are cleaned up, nobody was hurt and whatever was lost will hopefully be paid for by the insurance.
