We’ve had discussions about religion, politics, guns, and this goes off the rails? haha wha?

@anon3825968, people bump up against each others sensibilities all the time… you bumped @Satur9’s and he really bumped yours by declaring it. I think a simple response like this could have sufficed;

Lol wtf Rosco. Leave Coma’s tits alone. You’re being a creep.

Sorry you feel that way. If Como feels that way I will apologize to her.

Sensible, right?

Let’s all be friends again?

Yeah, totally. I see no irreconcilable issues here. We’re all adults. This should be easy.

Here’s a more lighthearted topic, today I learned black nitrile gloves will shamelessly fill with sweat and turn your fingers to raisins when worn for too long

I’ve learned that too! And almost immediately after that I learned that I have a negative reaction to latex

You’re not. I full-heartedly agree.

The problem with the exchange isn’t that it happened, but the context around it - this is an open forum. Even as someone whose lurked around enough to know that A.) rosco wasn’t being serious and B.) Coma doesn’t have a problem with his ā€œjokesā€, it still made me uncomfortable to read, mostly due in large part to the fact that this is how a lot of legitimate sexual harassment gets blown off (ā€œI was just joking!ā€, ā€œI guess she just can’t take a jokeā€, etc). Whether or not that’s what you intended, that’s what gets communicated, and even though it’s not a ā€œbig dealā€ because people might know the context around it, it can be extremely off-putting or even triggering for people who might just be coming into the community.

This isn’t a personal attack, just trying to share how what you say can be unintentionally harmful.

But did you know they will also go up in flames if you accidentally touch nitric acid?
I learned that when I was younger.

Lmao I have to wear them at work for sanitary reasons and I just took one off and an ocean poured out of it

I totally get that in a real-life-situation, which might be more threatening due to someone standing in front of you who might be more serious about that, or whom you might not know well, or whatever.
But I must admit, I just don’t get it in these circumstances here. How can one be sexually harassed in a moderated forum? If someone crosses a line here, I think I’m just gonna talk to Amal or Pilgrim here and get things sorted out. If that’s even necessary, for I can usually defend myself easily.
But what is the problem with (mostly) guys making a ā€œjokeā€ (even if it is meant in a sexually offensive way), as long as they are never ever able to actually touch you? I can’t be sexually harassed by words, seriously, but that might just be me (I’ve been around on anonymous, non-regulated forums, so I’m used to a lot of things…). I can get angry, and I can answer pretty harsh, yeah, but I am definitely not in the role of a victim of sexual harassment - and to put myself in that role because of simple words would do victims of real-life-harassment no justice.

That’s really the crux of the issue. Sexually harassment isn’t quantified by fear of physical aggression for everyone - some people are just uncomfortable broaching that subject with people they don’t feel close with, and an environment of sexually charged language (even if it doesn’t bother you, the intended recipient of the ā€œjokeā€) can still fundamentally cause other people to be massively uncomfortable.

It’s along the same reason people say there’s a systemic problem of sexism in the tech sector - a male-dominated industry filled with people who often don’t know or understand social cues as well as they think has created an environment that is conducive to making non-males uncomfortable being a part of that industry, which perpetuates the cycle even further. I’ve yet to see personally any sort of weird/sexually charged power abuses that were based on a sense of physical domination, but I’ve seen plenty of people make really awkward, uncomfortable comments that I’ve been confided in that makes other non-males very uncomfortable and honestly unwelcome.

It’s not that all tech industry people are sexist or anything like the sort - most tech people I’ve worked with are onboard with trying to be inclusive and are all for a more diverse workplace, and I’m lucky to work on a team that is majority female (2/3rds women, I’m non-binary, and 2 men) where this isn’t really an issue. It’s just that it’s often times that these people don’t understand how those offhanded comments contribute to the systemic problem they want to address.

If it would help, I could inappropriately ask @anon3825968 to show us his PA… :zipper_mouth_face:

Mh, that’s actually one of the reasons I prefer to work with men - it’s usually a lot more uncomplicated, usually more direct. I can take quite a verbal punch, got no problem with that, but I can be pretty direct, too, so this can be problematic with (over?-)sensitive people.

That’s why, in this case here, I’m more on Rosco’s ā€œsideā€ (if there is something like a ā€œsideā€, dunno how to express it better), for it’s just the way I’m used to.

Don’t know if we mean the same thing, but do you really think Rosco would pierce his dick???

I wouldn’t put it past anyone in this community. We’re all some weird fucks so I think PAs are far from the strangest. (Who’s the guy with an xEM in his cock?)

I just know how he feels about bodymods, that’s why I would be… surprised

What? Who? Where?

WOW, just playing catch up, that blew up quickly… anyway, the nitrile gloves comments were interesting.

It was an xSIID, he tried it for / as pearling. :bulb:

He couldn’t leave it alone long enough to heal. :adhesive_bandage: so removed it :hocho:

Rosco did allude to having a Prince Albert :eggplant: :ring:
TALKING TO HIS MUM

Soooo, make your own mind up on that one.

As ā€œweirdā€ as it sounds, I would like to see his skin tunnel (he knows what i am talking about) and ask him if it would fit an xSeries and whether he tried it or not.
I’m not even joking, nor do I think he would be offended with me asking.

No no, there is one guy with a successful xEM penis install.
ā€œMark | NameHeroā€ on discord.

Hell, there are lots of nice silicone beads, rods, and other stuff for that… might be a lot more comfortable.
Maybe one could talk to Steve to make some out of glowing silicone - could be funny for that use case^^

Ah, thanks. Now I know :+1:

There was a guy in the discord who still currently has an xEM in there.
Just saw Yeka already said it. whoops
