Itā€™s o.k. man. When everything feels off, just get out your dial test indicator and Iā€™m a gonna help you get it dialed right back in.

Well I was going to, but then realised you are an Apple user; I imagine they do much the same, but I can only tell you the Samsung watch ultra measures sleep apnea, O2, snoring etc, and ties in with the phone for more accurate readings and combine again with the ring ( I believe, but I cant confirm because I donā€™t own one ) that agin builds a even more accurate pictueā€¦

Wait, thereā€™s another gadget that you have to buy to get the full functionality!?

Look, there were times when the pulse oximeter of the S8 came in handy, but I think that Iā€™ll buy a cheap one and call it a day. What does the ring do that a watch canā€™t? Donā€™t smartwatches have the same sensors? Maybe it makes sense for people with wrist tattoos or as a lightweight alternative to a smartwatch? Iā€™m lost here TBH.

Are wrist tattoos specifically a problem?
I clearly have a couple, but they are underneath, and even then if were to invert I think they are just out of the way of the sensor

Yeap, they can prevent the sensors on the back of the watch from reading properly.

Youā€™re a pirate on the internet, and I canā€™t tell if you wear long sleeves. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have the Apple Watch Ultra. A full battery last ~2 days. When I see it getting low, I often charge it in the truck driving to and from work, or I have a phone, watch, AirPods combo charger/stand on my desk at work. Based off my estimation and no measured data, a quick 30 minute charge seems to get me to around 50-70%.

I wear my watch every night. I had never specially looked at my blood ox data. I glanced at it this morning and donā€™t mind sharing. Sept 27 05:53 it reads 90%. I was in bed awakeish had been scrolling on my phone and decided to get an extra 10 minutes of sleep before getting up. Idk if that was accurate or an anomaly,

If there is anything else useful I can provide let me know.

After the pebble was killed, I had an Amazfit Bip and that thing was great. Super basic for a smartwatch but it had a 2 week battery life and that was perfect for me. Also had a great price point.

Interesting, I figured it would have been measuring more oftenā€¦. But power conservation I guess

My thoughts exactly.

I didnā€™t see any setting that controlled frequency.

I tend to charge my wearable PC while Iā€™m using it. In fact, the reason Iā€™m not taking a pic of my pocketwatch to share here right now is because Iā€™m currently tethered to the wall.

When I used an occular display, I never charged it, Iā€™d just keep it plugged in whenever I used it. I really would prefer it werenā€™t weighed down with a battery at all. I prefer cables to batteries. Cables are beautiful.

I plan on building my next wearable with a dual slot, so I can instantly hot swap the batteries at the changing station and be on my way.

I donā€™t have a lot of other wearables I use regularly, not even a watch. And when I do use a watch, itā€™s wind-up.

I donā€™t usually wear a watch. Iā€™ve been thinking lately I might like to start, and something with biologging would be interesting. Something hackable and reprogrammable would be nice. Havenā€™t looked much into it.

Steve Mann style cyborg, yes. It would be nice if there were an implant that could some how let me tell the time. I dream of Sallyā€™s segmented display implant, from Neuromancer, but anything that lets me tell the time would be awesome. No ideas how that could be possible.

This is what I sometimes wear on special occasions (in a tangle of mess where itā€™s been sealed away in storage for so long):

Managed to find a 9th gen pre banā€¦ :man_shrugging:t2:
Guess weā€™ll see if itā€™s work the hassle
(Iā€™m used to looking for pre bad gun stuffsā€¦ a watch is kinda unexpected)

Also, I have huge wrists aparentlyā€¦trying to wrap my hand around the boney part of my wrist, I have a 2ā€ish gap

Iā€™ve always had a rather stocky build skeletal wiseā€¦ but I forgot since I havenā€™t worn watches in foreverā€¦ and Iā€™m suddenly reminded itā€™s a struggle to find the right bands :joy::sweat_smile:

Lately
Iā€™ve been using Alexa as my alarm, and itā€™s surprisingly niceā€¦ at a certain time on the days I work I have it set to start playing my Spotify playlist on very low volume, and then it periodically turns the volume up a bit, and turns my bedroom lights on at some pointā€¦

Very reliable and much less hatred in the morning

Sometimes the day just doesnā€™t go you way.

In June tenants moved out of my rental and have caused about 8k in damages. Iā€™m finally at a point where the city is inspecting it and I had maybe 5 code violations.

Today I was going to knock out the issues so I had all my tools in my truck.

Circular saw, compound sliding miter, vinyl flooring cutter, all my cordless tools and a cordless finish nailer.

Went in to Loweā€™s (a home improvement store) and within 3 minutes (according to the surveillance cameras) a U-Haul pulled next to my truck popped the lock and cleaned out about $1,600 worth of tools.

Today was much longer than it needed to be :disappointed_relieved:
