Did you? I also spent my summers on a farm and ill tell you myself and my 2 cousins tried our dardnest to knock a Cow over and if they dont want to move, they dont. I hear cow tipping stories and im in awe if they ever were able to because i never succeeded.
Were they awake or sleeping? I think the premise is that you can tip a cow over if itās sleeping on its feetā¦ and awake cow will just shift its weight and youāre not going to win against that.
ours slept on their side or with their legs tucked down. Even dozy while standing i couldnt get its weight to shift. We couldnt even nudge them with cushmans.
yeah cows actually sleep laying downā¦ but sometimes, especially in certain weather cows can go into a kind of trance while standingā¦ they are awake technically but they are basically catatonicā¦ just lock their legs and stand thereā¦ usually when itās wet and nasty outā¦ and they canāt get into a barn or covered space.
I once saw a group of cows standing in a huddle, with one cow touching the electric fence. They all stood there getting shocked on purposeā¦ I guess to keep warm in the rainā¦ they had āsteamā coming off themā¦ the whole groupā¦ and they would just kind of twitch a bit every few secondsā¦ did it for hours.
we had smokey cows basically every morning as the dew came off them. but ours would never touch the sparky fence.
Yeah when they are dozy they are still pretty solid. again i only have the few that we had that i would torment.
With that said myself and my 2 cousins at 10yrs old we never ever were able to tip a cow. even us 3 running at full speed and jumping into them.
I thought the whole thing with cow tipping was that its not actually possible? To me the point was always just to get unsuspecting people to step in cow shit. Just tell them they have to go barefoot at night to sneak up on the cows and laugh when they step in manure. Maybe i was just an asshole growing up thoughā¦
this is very likely true. i never actually tipped oneā¦ i just know that cows can basically go unresponsive on their hooves, which i assumed was necessary if you were ever to try to get them to actually tip over.
It took about 5 of us from memory and only succeeded once. I should add we were about 18 and fairly big and the cow was a small juvenile.
Thatās cool, have you seen the Applied Science videos on their electron microscope? Itās pretty interesting to see how they work.
I have not watched the videos but I know how those work. So thanks for the recommendation!
Some people have built scanning electron microscopes at home, but Iāve never had the need for one or time to build one.
Applied Science is one of the absolute best science channels on YouTube.
Using technological ignorance against criminalsā¦ security through obscurity in the wildā¦
The EEVBlog has a video on some of those systems but I donāt remember anything about it.
Iāll rewatch it later when Iām less exausted, but here it is if anyoneās interested:
As for the bolted piece of metal or plastic, well, itās been obvious to me ever since I came across one of those carts in the US.
Also, any plans for an xBattery implant? This tired cyborg would buy it in a clock cycle.
Dude those things are legit. Underground thereās some super high frequency field emitted at a boundary. When those are triggered that cart is immovable.
When I first moved to Dallas I was in a posh apartment in uptown that was connected to a Kroger. We found that we could bring the carts all the way to our apartment. It was great.
So we would sit on our balcony and just watch people try to steal by taking a cart full of stuff and book it through the parking lot. They got to the end of the lot where the sensor was and it would seize and they would eat it.
I never figured out how to unlock it but I watched a detailed video on it and I think someone figured out with the right audio file you could unlock it
I believe Amalās only has the sign, there doesnāt seem to be anything in the wheels
The flipper also has the files for it
I think it was here that I heard someone say it isnāt the audio that unlocks it, but it uses your speakers as a sort of antenna
Yeah itās funny they added a red plastic loop only, but it doesnāt move or do anythingā¦ itās just meant to look like some kind of security mechanism
