In that order specifically :joy::us::us::us:

Nobody has mentioned wheels so far, which are by far the most energy efficient. I would include those in my design.

Also I saw some DT themed Halloween decorations while in Dallas

What colour is your potatoe then, eh @Pilgrimsmaster ?

Basically, I tend to use a lot of weird spellings because I used to read alot of Napoleonic era sailing fiction. It just kinda sunk in, like a written accent if you will.

And as important as being correct can be to me, just this once the almighty imperial universe can do it my way.

Well, this is the most obvious solution as almost everything in the world is designed for humans:

However, see that as a suggestion and Iā€™d love to experiment with different forms. Wheels and tracks would be nice to try, however stairs would be a problem. And also fitting in cars or drivingā€¦

Get out of my head! Iā€™ve thought about this extensively and would totally do this if planning to stay the entire day at my lab building or testing stuffā€¦

Iā€™m going with mecanum wheels, those are awesome and extremely versatile.

Also, am I the only one who would like to try different manipulators? Still, having a set of human like hands is useful in this world.

Iā€™d get some of that stuff built inā€¦ Still, being able to interact with the world is an important design consideration for the time being. Although who knows if others decide to choose the same mechanical path, there might be some things specifically made for robots.

Of course. But Iā€™m also willing to take some limitations when it comes to certain things in order to gain advantages in others. I want the best solution for me, not the ideal meatbag body. Iā€™m of with being a little stiff here and there, and with some gimbal limitations as long as these things donā€™t get in my way.

No thanks on the animal side of things. And I donā€™t fully understand the Mr Potatoe concept, but I think that it would be way to hard to implement.

Yes please! But thatā€™s rather impracticalā€¦ Still, something more reasonable like an 8ā€™ tall and bulky body would be fun to haveā€¦ Even if just for the weekends.

Flying would be nice but being strictly an aircraft would be impractical. Just donā€™t call me ā€œStarscreamā€ā€¦

Get out of my head once again!

Modularity. Plug and play. Wheels today, treads tommorrow, Orion drive next Thursday.

Thatā€™s something Iā€™ve always had in mind!

Personally, I like the terminator model. Machinery covered by flesh.

I didnā€™t care so much for the body. Just load me up into the Internet and let me be.

Have you been on the internet?

Not sure I want to have that on a direct feed into my consciousness lol

No thanks, I want to be mechanical. Besides, having flesh over the mechanical bits makes exchanging parts rather hard. And you loose things like temperature and cold resistance, the possibility to live in space, etcā€¦ I see no point in limiting myself to look human. Besides, facial tracking software canā€™t track you if you donā€™t have a human face, yes Iā€™d stick out like a sore thumb but humans are not great at looking away from their phones and paying attentionā€¦

Yeah, no thanksā€¦ Pilgrimsmaster must be incredibly brave to be connected to itā€¦

Finally took the time to look for the video. And I also like the little antenna.

Another thing thatā€™s worth mentioning is that things like having built in night vision and thermal imaging can be useful. Especially if replicating the thermal side of touch turns out to be hard. But still, being able to tell the temperature of equipment is useful AF.

Iā€™m also like the Gundam and Maddox designs, but I still want modularity to be able to hang out on wheels or go for a walk on digitigrade legs.

Trust me, the Internet should be scared of my consciousness. Itā€™s dark in here and full of terrorā€¦

But having a covering over the mechanical bits might add some resistance to dirt and water intrusion?

True, but why wear a bag of salty water? O-rings and other gaskets are probably better and easier than engineering weird flesh.

Also, why wear clothes if youā€™re going full robot?

Iā€™m not sure if you are able to.
I think you have a 5 day window with which to do so after you set up your profile.
HOWEVER
Since itā€™s only a small change, and other users will still know who you are.
I can do that for you, if you would likeā€¦:hamster_emoji_gif:
