The anti🚫-derailment🚃 & thread🧵 hijackingšŸ”« thread🧵 ⁉

You have no idea :weary:

I get what you’re saying, but there is a point in dwelling on it… there’s a lot of potentially bad stuff coming down the pipe, and it’s likely unopposed

I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed…
And I’m sad for all the steps backwards we are about to take

I donated my stem cells to help save a life from blood cancer! Join the bone marrow registry at DKMS.org and you may get a chance too!

The forbidden watermelon juice!

Yes, it looks awful… But it’s pretty cool that you helped save a life!

Also, more reasons to go full robot…

I’m kinda curious, is it fully anonymous, or do they give you a little info, like you just saved a 6 year old who loves dinosaurs and wants to go outside again?

Also, total steely eyed power move!

You get basic information that you are expected to keep private (e.g. 36 year old female with lymphoma) but other than that I didn’t get more. I think there’s a chance that at the recipients discretion (and yours too of course) they may want to talk to you or meet you, but I’m not too sure. The only thing more I can say about my donation is that it treated someone with leukemia, but I can’t say the specific type of anything else.

Also man I was tired when I typed that, I definitely meant to say blood cancer.

Right?? Its strange, it’s much clearer in the tubes as it comes out. The machine they use is pretty dang cool. It spins the blood to separate the cells out by their specific gravity, then using optical sensors it looks for this super thin layer of blood between the plasma and red blood cells called the buffy coat. This buffy coat is made up of white blood cells and my stem cells that were stimulated by the filgrastim medication I had to take leading up to the donation. It then is able to pull those cells specifically and collect them in a container while the blood is continuously returned back to the patient

No polotics on the Forum, well done everybody!!

Below is Politically based, but neutrally oriented video

Made by Onion Network

Think of it as a futuristic light hearted Black Mirror episode.

@Eriequiet definately watch it to the end

I had to delete political stuff in a place where they asked me to help moderate.

And I failed to not reply to the stuff on this forum…

:emoji_facepalm:

*Walks slowly towards the corner of shame…

That video is brilliant! And the ending is extremely accurate!

Idk man,… I get what you’re implying
But its hard to not feel bleak when close minded ideals succeed, because it normalizes it and makes it easier to spread

4 years goes by fast. And then it can never happen again.

There’s a lot that can happen in those 4 years. Whole not all is going to be good, it means the next 4 years after is going to be an improvement.

Besides I think it’s best to just ignore the political shit and focus on the cool things that will come out regardless of the unethical shit that will go on. That’s other people’s problem to worry about and I have limited brain space to care about.

Awesome for VR, not great for AR.
What’s missing from both is resistance. Force opposing your movement. There are some tricks to fake it but you will always be able to push your hand right into a solid object.
That’s why I think AR has more use for haptics in the current state of things. We can’t fake solid objects yet but we can add to them.

I came across this and immediately thought of several people who would benefit from getting one… Humans…
