Squishyware for that matter… Or is it gray matter?
Gen2 Magic Mifare work by basically just having looser permissions in the access bytes than normal, right?
I finally picked some up for playing with, and I copied the sector 0 access bytes from a non-magic credential over to the Gen2 fob, which I was sort of expecting to lock it down like the original card is
But that didn’t happen, I could still write to everything as expected
Is there something else going on? What am I missing?
Thanks for the help!
This is just based on my understanding but afaik the only difference is that normal cards won’t let you write to the manufacturer block (aka the first 16B of the card), no matter the permissions. Gen 2 just treat that block as a normal block that’s part of sector 0, meaning whatever permissions you set for that sector apply to the manufacturer block as well.
I have that stock!!
Logitech uses one of those in the scroll wheel of the latest MX mouses. And I’ve known about them for a while, but these are incredibly cool and I wanted to share.
Ah! I wondered about that.
Maxed it out so much it became Austrian instead of German
I’m the past it’s the Austrian trying to be German
@Pilgrimsmaster Is there a weird setting that isnt allowing me to edit this wiki post?
Yes, I believe there is a 90 day time limit to edit any of your own posts, but what you can do is DM me exactly what you want and I can copy and paste it as required.
Oh man, i must have misunderstood the Wiki Category. I assumed (incorrectly) that it allowed you and anyone to update it.
ill check the settings and see if there is anything that will allow that to happen
And move these posts to "derail:
****Door Access Readers****

@Pilgrimsmaster would you prefer a DM or is this fine? Could you add this below Devices, and below Flipper so it remains Alphabetical? You can delete this after if it isnt too much trouble <3
It turns out, we were both a lottle correct and a little incorrect.
In THEORY you should have been able to edit.
There are some conflicting settings.
Leave it with me, I’ll see if I can sort it out.
It will be a bit later though, I’m going for about a 8hr drive
Ahhhhhhhh, I found it.
it should right itself.
I’ll explain shortly
unless you want me to do it whilst I’m driving?
Is that what you want Hammy? Is it?
Do you want me to be a danger to myself and others?
Do you want me to die?
Do you want me to get a fine?
Sheesh, you’ve changed Hammy, I thought you were a super nice guy, apparently you’re playing the long game.
