The anti🚫-derailment🚃 & thread🧵 hijackingšŸ”« thread🧵 ⁉

Is it though? That sounds a lot like how current social media works. It leads to a system where only a few people with a headstart or the means to do this as a full time job can get a significant reputation and have their content showed (Which sounds a lot like old-school media now that I think about it).
The internet will become only usable by influencers, big brands, ads and AI…wait a second… that’s already the case… Do we really want to reinforce that?

3D print a knob? Basically that’s what you’d be using it for.

Success on the lock. I found some local that were pretty close, I had to destroy the old one to get the cam/tab off of it. Fortunately, I’m quite skilled in percussive maintenance.

Anywho, thanks all!!!

I meant try buying one with the blade which is the same length and then drill the hole in the lever.

I don’t mean in a competitive sense, like brand names or subscriber counts, but rather in the sense of… well, credit scores is a bad analogy, because credit scores are a silly game. Something like a probationary period. Or a clean criminal record. Or paying a deposit. Something that plateau’s out, and now you’ve got a little star next to your name or whatever.

If we could get proper proof of person authorities up and running in each country’s local licensing offices or medical facilities or whatever, using actual proof of personhood rather than silly things like phone numbers or addresses, then those authorities could simply sign off one’s public key as verified human and you’re good to go.

Absolutely. And manage cases of the natal key being compromised or lost, but without just handing a free pass to ID thieves. In short, replace our current ductpunk nightmare of a bureaucracy with something known to actually work.

Though I can just see us implementing all of it only to have the bureaucrats say, ā€œOkay, but to be issued one, you have to prove you’re human by responding to the letter that we sent to the wrong address, again.ā€

Ah, yeah. Too bad it’s a square hole. (Has to be.)

NewPipe is great. It got me to break a bad YouTube addiction. When I’m on my desktop I use yt-dlp with ytfzf. The content was still tailored to please YT’s algorithm, but at least I’m not directly plugged into that algorithm any more. And NewPipe supports PeerTube instances, if I ever start using that feature.

I got tired of google maps on my last trip and bought a paper atlas, and I’ve switched to a git repo to backup my files instead of google docs, but I still occasionally use google for those things. And I need to find a new e-mail server, or host one. Gradual weaning.

That’s the part seems like quite the chore, going through each site one by one, backing up data, requesting deletion, or changing e-mail and passwords. Daunting, intimidating prospect. Congrats on making it through!

Incredible how well it works with implants. It works with the large antennas but needs an RSP in the middle to focus it

Are you going to put something else in that spot?

Yes: :blinky_white:
The xEM had to go in before the NExT got taken out because its my daily driver ignition. But i can get away without the HF side installed for a bit

My Taco Bell is now using ai voice to text for order taking…

Can’t decide if I want to be a troll like various videos or give it a pass…
It does seem to work… fine… and I guess the actual order taking is pretty mundane

Same!

I need the satellite view and business infos a lot for hobbies and pro :face_with_diagonal_mouth:. This is probably the one I couldn’t drop but idc because you can use it without an account (I’ll do that at some point when I find a decent kml editor to deal with my million saved places)
I ironically I made a kml editor on Android a few years ago but it needs some work

I’m sure it won’t accept my 2Tb of stuff sadly and no mobile support .

It’s not that bad. You get the list from Google’s data manager then go though each one and set a password if it’s not already the case. Then unlink it on the list

I assume that one of your motivations to remove it was that it was moving in a tunnel.

Are you going to get a different HF chip like a xSIID or just leaving the new LF implant alone?
