@Az_F
I know you  magnets, but Im curious

Do you find that having so many in different locations can be annoying? or is that a part of the experience?

With one or two in certain locations, I can see how they could be useful, but with so many, I would see it like this (image context wrong, but you get the idea)

even though I think I know your answer

That’s a complicated question.
Annoying? Nope, in the day to day proceedings it’s like they’re not there. They’re not strong enough to interfere with stuff I hold other than my phone’s compass.
Part of the experience? No? I wouldn’t call it an experience more than I would call earrings and experience

It makes more sense if I break things down:

  • I have the finger ones for my haptics research and sensing.
  • the two xg3s on the back are for practicality, ie. holding stuff and lifting
  • the palm one… wtf not, it’s a new exciting spot and I wonder if it senses

Although I’m not trying to justify them, I’m in love the concept of sensing and will get as many as I can

At this rate you might as well make a Lodestone Mega out of a speaker amp and turn your hand into a vibrator.

Yeah, and I asked it poorly.

Yeah, I knew this didn’t really fit, I was thinking, if you are trying yo do ā€œa thingā€ and your hand is attracted to, or something ā€œsticksā€ to you, the first few times are, meh, but then you get bored of having to pluck the paperclips :paperclip: :paperclips: off, or screws, or metal filings etc.

These all totally make sense, and expected answers.

I knew this answer also…

I don’t know if this means you are predictable or I just asked a stupid question that I already knew the answers to.

That genuinely doesn’t happen  maybe a couple time when manipulating those metal twisty ties

A question is worthless if it’s not complicated.

Are you trying to sound like your profile pic?

Edit: you know I’m predictable when it comes to magnets

Just ran out with the GF to go get pizza. Oh boy that was an adventure. Here in the city, people get stupid real quick. Makes me miss being out in the middle of nowhere, where if you were on the roads in a winter storm it was because you knew what you were doing.

Tooth for thought:

I’m in discussions with my dentist about getting an implant :tooth:.
I was wondering if anyone has idea / time / resource/ or know someone to cyberise it.

In other words: would it be possible to jam a chip / led / magnet into my future fake tooth?
No rush, I’ll progress with this towards the end of the year.
Just mentioned it while @Amal’s bench is
ā€œrelatively clearā€

Ps: the crown will be rather larger about 13x8mm, but will measure it exactly when it becomes relevant.

I’ve had a lot of questions from dentists over the years about this kind of thing. It’s possible but nobody wants to $$$ for development

1k is my budget…for you.

Depends on if the dentist is willing to play ball

Personally I think a magnet would be awesome… you might be able to use it for bone conduction audio wearing a coil necklace

My dentist is a legend :grinning:
It rather depends on what 1k could cover.
(I pay for the dental care separate.)

I’ll mention it at the beginning of March to the specialist who will look after it.

We spoke about it already and he was interested… Of course, he wants the fame :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Just wanted to confirm it with you b4 I started rolling the ball.
Once I get my :moneybag: sorted I throw some cash at you to keep the flow of conversation elevated

Honestly man your dentist could probably get one of these Steco dental magnets legit and embed it into the acrylic tooth without our involvement (and cost)… best way to go IMO

Fully embedding the magnet in a dental epoxy tooth would be a perfect application and the dentist doesn’t should not face any legal liability issues since these are dental magnets already.

Just based on the possibility this could snowball into something awesome, could somebody spin this off into a new thread?

I’m gonna want to keep track of it if it goes anywhere. My teeth are all good, but who knows what tommorrow brings.

If @Atilla dentist thinks it’s a good idea they should start a new thread detailing the process
