Iāve had a lot of questions from dentists over the years about this kind of thing. Itās possible but nobody wants to $$$ for development
1k is my budgetā¦for you.
Depends on if the dentist is willing to play ball
Personally I think a magnet would be awesomeā¦ you might be able to use it for bone conduction audio wearing a coil necklace
My dentist is a legend
It rather depends on what 1k could cover.
(I pay for the dental care separate.)
Iāll mention it at the beginning of March to the specialist who will look after it.
We spoke about it already and he was interestedā¦ Of course, he wants the fame
Just wanted to confirm it with you b4 I started rolling the ball.
Once I get my sorted I throw some cash at you to keep the flow of conversation elevated
Honestly man your dentist could probably get one of these Steco dental magnets legit and embed it into the acrylic tooth without our involvement (and cost)ā¦ best way to go IMO
Fully embedding the magnet in a dental epoxy tooth would be a perfect application and the dentist doesnāt should not face any legal liability issues since these are dental magnets already.
Just based on the possibility this could snowball into something awesome, could somebody spin this off into a new thread?
Iām gonna want to keep track of it if it goes anywhere. My teeth are all good, but who knows what tommorrow brings.
If @Atilla dentist thinks itās a good idea they should start a new thread detailing the process
Atilla, could you post his number so an entire horde of cyborgs can contact him simultaneously?
I remember talking to him about dental magnets.
Is that to connect the crown and abutment?
Iāll need to properly budget for this project.
I want to make a short film of the whole processā¦etc.
It should stay as derail until a solid stack of his and her majesty is backing it up.
But yeah Iāll make a proper thread for it once it starts to manifest into corporeality.
Xx
It is a called a root cap obturator magnet designed for acrylic embedding or in your case, acrylic could be used to fully encapsulate. Youād probably want the Steco X-Line V.00.01.X250 obturator magnet which is 2.5mm tall by 4.8mm diameter, which should fit inside the tooth nicely and not significantly impact the robustness or durability of the tooth itself.
Iām also very interestedā¦
I still have that same healing cap an no fake toothā¦ but this might push me over the edge to getting one

@Aoxhwjfoavdlhsvfpzha @Zwack
Not exactly the line I would have chosen for that particular trail
Did everyone else read this as āPilgrims AI can you spin this off into a new thread?ā ???
Brilliant idea. Terrifying (in a potential pain sort of way) but brilliant.
I am happy to contribute a little towards any research too just to see the end result.
Coming from Latin America, I disagree. And trust me, you donāt want Latin sexual tensionā¦
Same, sort of, I donāt have Dutch ancestry as far as I know, but at least my dentist doesnāt want to remove them.
Get out of my head! Or stay, before DT was a thing you were already thereā¦ Hopefully my thought will provide more inspiration.
Economics: it is 5ct MORE to get half as much
(exact same part from teh same vendor, just changing the qt in the cart ā¦)
another is 50ct for 5pcs and 30ct for 10
pcb pricing is like this too
