This seems a little off. It handicaps newer posts for no good reason

I know what you are saying, and here are my thoughts; generally, most posts are read within a week (most “regulars” check in at least once a week, and actual “Regulars” check in daily.) I posted the “place your vote” 5 days ago, So my thought process was

Give 'em a week, and anybody who is going to vote, will have voted.

HOWEVER

How about 2 per month, max of 5 months as a cut off?

If you want to manage that, have at it.

Put together a list of the final contenders.

Build the poll with a cut off midnigt 31st December (Seattle time.)
