What are you making ⚒️ / 3D printing 🖨

Now I want to do this, but also to hold down my extra thin pm3 (thanks hammy) and my nfc implant extender (thanks hammy). I’ve been using my pm3 box to hold all my nfc junk, but now it’s overflowing into a USPS bubble bag (thanks hammy).

I suppose I should prooobably use my 3d printer…

Any of you sexy printers wanna help cad up the case for the new nfc talos door lock. Its all done. Just the case to finish. I suck at cad. And tinkercad certainly has some limitations…

Just opened a fresh spool of Creality TPU:

Is this mud? WTF!?

looks like debris

Probably some kind of super carbonized or decomposed polymer that was baking to hell inside the extruder that finally popped free… or some kind of debris or dissimilar material mixed into the feeder

I’m betting it happened during packing… after the filament was spooled. You can see it forms a kind of smudge mark across multiple threads in the spool…

Someone fucked up during handling.

Yeap, and there was more of that stuff stuck to the vacuum sealed bag. So you’re probably right.

I cleaned it already, but this is not what you want to see on a new spool.

Maybe someone bumped the spool against the extruder that was covered in carbonized plastic?

And I should probably clean the nozzle on my printer…

Riddle me this Bat-Man!?!?!?

I’ve just smoked a server mother board. Call me nuts, I think well populated circuit boards are pretty, and this one is almost 18" square (with a notch out of one corner).

So what do I do with it? Something cool and pretty, I hope. I could just hang it on the wall. I have a couple of smaller boards that way.

I could even frame it for extra punch. Maybe Illuminated in a deep shadow box type frame? I might prefer to K.I.S.S.

I’m building a kickass coffee table, so displaying it there is out (but would be cool).

Ideas? Thoughts? Ruminations on the ideation of the modern motherboard?

ps. I won’t use the ram slot covers. They block the pretty contacts.

How did you kill it?

I may or may not have directly shorted a minimum of 300 watts through it by virtue of wiring 2 GPU power cords up with reversed polarity.

It could also be just upset at me. Who knows?

ooof man. I’ve done some troubleshooting in my time but that might not be recoverable. still worth doing all the things to get it back to life if you can.

I’ve done all I can. The replacement has been procured. This one is destined to be art. Fortuneatly it didn’t smoke, burn, or scorch when it went.

Mount it on a stick as a warning to all future electronics

I spy a little heatsink, destined for a lovely project with a spicy microcontroller, an irate SDR, or even an SBC being just a bit too good for its own good.

Made a Fully 3D printed 10" mini server rack for my dad’s shop. It houses:

  • a UniFi Express router
  • a Beelink Mini PC (His office computer)
  • a 3D printed patch panel
  • a TP-Link SG2210P PoE switch
  • a UniFi CloudKey Gen 2
