What unexpected uses have you found for your implants?

I was able to use my xG3 while visiting my folks to help diagnosis an issue with our well pump by feeling which lines had power.

What unexpected uses have you found? Magnetic or otherwise!

I once used it to break the ice and get a date. Sadly it went nowhere, but that’s not the implant’s issue.

Also excels at freaking the normies and identifying the open minded.

“There’s a lot of current flowing through this wire”
“How do you know?”
“Trust me, I’m an engineer”

I usually say something like, “How dare you doubt my Machinist Powers!”

I have used my Titan many times to see if high current devices are functioning properly. I had an unreliable submersible heater and used to check whether it was functioning by hovering over the input wire to see if I could feel current. I use it sorta regularly at work to see if one of the neon signs transformers has finally gone out or not. I also use it for the normal picking up paper clips and cleaning small pieces of metal off my workspace.

Definitely an unexpected application :+1:
Good identifier afterward: “Hey Chip Guy!”

Those are usually not sentences i like to ear next to each other

Implants are a good excuse of why i have so much pentesting gear in my backpack …

Sometimes I prank people really hard! Like for example having an office party, some drinks and stuff, decided to prank one guy by writing url to my covid vaccination sertificate stored in google docs. So the talk was about people getting chipped with vaccines and how this was pure BS. I was, look now those nanobots can be programmed to store the cert. Scan my hand and you will see. He did, and afterwards the confusion was epic. After having a good laugh, I’ve explained what it was. People were, you’re crazy, and I was yeah so you accept the idea of chicks with fake boobs, but not rfid implants. That’s discrimination! Yet another portion of good laughter

I know their dimensions so I use them to measure stuff

I’ve been bullied for allegedly being chipped in 7th grade. They didn’t even know I wanted to be chipped lol

Oh that’s clever! How reliable is that?

±2mm I’d say. Keep in mind the skin thickness at either end of a glassie for example.
I know my xg3s are 15mm so with skin its ~17mm, so if you put something next to it you get a decent point of reference.

I used to do the same with my flexnext which was 42mm, so a nice 4.5cm with skin.

Admittedly you could do the same if you knew the size of your knuckles or something

I had my NeXT installed my senior year of high school. All throughout college I’ve had my phone number on the HF side and gave it out to people to message me for study planning, dinner, whatever. It’s now at the point that I’ll start doing my implant talk, and people will exclaim, “WAIT! YOU’RE THE GUY WITH THE CHIPS?!”

It never gets old.

I once used my Titan to help me retrieve one of those rock-shaped magnets that a child dropped on the floor. I couldn’t quite reach it normally, but it was juuust within range of my Titan’s magnetic field. Anyone watching closely would’ve seen the rock magnet align itself and get Force-Nudged against my fingertip just before I grabbed it.

Edit: I’ve been wanting to attempt to hack a 3DS using my Titan (any unit can be hacked with a properly prepared flashcart, a button combo, and a magnet to trick the lid sensor) and get it on video, but I haven’t gotten around to it.

I thought about it for a while, still not sure, if I ever got one that would be it.

I found out if I do this:

Anywhere near my boss, he turns colors and starts making throw-up noises.

Does that count?

Yup.
Fun side note, my Titans are in the same spot. Loose flexible skin there. So if I grab a magnet, I can pull them up a fair bit, and it’s super obvious to any freaked out bystanders.

Yeah, so far I havn’t told my boss I had a xG3 put into P3 spot yesterday, pretty flexible so far with just a screw. Going to try the “OMG I’M STUCK TO THE DOOR!” trick one of these days and see what happens.
