Sorry for filming on a potato … the autofocus fucked me once I turned on the UV light and I didn’t notice. Thankfully we don’t care about fine detail here, only lumosity over time.

This is a green xGlow next to a sample of our green glow powder.

To me it looks like the first 20 mins or so has a similar brightness profile… the powder might be at a slight advantage, but if I was smart I would have limited the amount of powder to the same approximate volume as the xGlow … I do think the simple large surface area of powder visible to the camera lends it a fractional advantage over the xGlow.

What I can say is that we tested several “glow in the dark” filaments like what you might see for 3D printers and the like, and man there is no contest… this is the best possible light output for the longest amount of time in a polymerized rod you can find.

In the future we may just cast our own glow powder resin rods, but for now we are sourcing these polymer rods from a specialized factory. The glow rods are a form of PLA with a similar glow powder “impregnated” into it (their words). This is then encapsulated in our bio-resin.

The glow in the dark particles in those filaments are rather abrasive and require a hardened nozzle. Which shouldn’t be surprising since the same stuff is also a problem for tattoo needles.

now you need to print it … for proper demo :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
make a giant one with the powder thats too small for implant?

Oh fuck yeah, this is super exciting. Is this a limited release?

Nope. But we will has some interesting small batch offerings–we’ll let you know.

IT’S FINALLY HERE!

I’ve been away from here for too long. I’m thinking of an unconventional placement for sure. I’m assuming that’s no issue with the resin.

If I get it completed, I’d vote for the name “the glow worm”, but I’m open to and loving all the other suggestions.

we have something else coming that might also vie for “special placement”… can you say “wiggle worm” ?

Wow that’s definitely intriguing. Glowing and wiggling makes me think of an angler fish.

I’ve got some serious contemplating to do on real estate availability and density. lol

I don’t often engage with the human guinea pig concept… but in this case I think we should have a chat

I’m down whenever. Message on here, email, or if you still have my number text, or call.

I wanted to update everyone on a few things;

  1. There’s been a little bit of a delay shipping out xGlow orders but things should be shipping out by Friday.

  2. I put a prototype xGlow XL into my left arm a week ago, and I still can’t see anything… no glow… too much blood. Just like the xSIID and NExT v2, light sometimes takes a long time to show up… so if you don’t see any glow for a few weeks, this is normal.

  3. The xGlow XL is in the process of becoming an inventory item soon™

I had a package delivered earlier this week! I’m sitting around the house on a Sunday afternoon, and the temptation to act dumb is strong…

No dumb! Hahah

Considering the place where some of those things end up, I’d wait and leave the installation to a professional.

That’s what I’m doing. LOL

I’m going to talk to some places tomorrow and see if I can get it done while I’m out of town.

I’ve already done one self install down there, not really wanting to do that again.

@Satur9 , how is the glow?
does it glow on the day to day?

I had it taken out by Stargate01 at the Berlin meetup along with some other people’s stuff to send back to Amal for analysis (which reminds me I still gotta mail those ). While I had it ambient light didn’t really charge it you had to charge it directly. I did have it in a weird spot on my collarbone though. It would probably be more noticeable on your arms. Something like P1 or P2 would be good cause the skin is thin.

Are you suggesting that some people should look into UV illuminated underpants?
