ZINC :zinc: Android NFC cyborg multitool development

I also only use Aurora and F-Droid, however I was able to add a fake device to my Google Play account using GitHub - onyxbits/Raccoon: Google Play desktop client , after which I was able to buy ZINC via the Desktop Browser version of Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AzApps.ZINC . Aurora then installed the app without issue, I have it linked up to the same Google account.

And I really like the app!

That’s so much effort just to get the app  expect a theme code in your DMs

It’s getting there
What do we think?

@Pilgrimsmaster

So the idea is to use each mesh polygon as a possible implant positions. When editing your upgrade you can choose

  • from the existing list of named ones (same as now, I will just map each one manually to the corresponding polygon)
  • or you can choose to select manually from the 3d mesh. In that case the location won’t have a written name (probably some number id, I’m not naming 2000+ polygons by hand XD)

here are some I could use (I would much rather find a genderless on so I don’t have double the work but I can’t find any…)
Option 1:

Option 2:

Option 3:

Or I could commission a 3d modeler from the community to make one for this purpose with implant locations in mind when creating the mesh… :fast_forward: 📢 Commissioning 3D artist for ZINC

Actually:

  • Genderless (like current one)
  • Male/Female

For those who choose genderless, I agree because it’s a lot cleaner and simpler to implement. My only issue with it is how do you deal with genital/breast upgrades?
I might have to keep it vague like it is now where it can’t get more precise than “genitals” and “chest” and you see them depicted on a barbie doll kinda shape with no boobs.

I don’t think it’s too much of an issue just trying to consider every scenario…

Yeah, scrap these idiots. I just found the perfect assets for this. It’s going to be mechtacular!
@enginerd you’re gonna love this!

Sneek peek with robo-toes just for you

I do! That is amazing!

I’m falling in love.

I especially love robots with two toes! It looks amazing! And I also need to know where to get those assets…

Look up this guy Slava Z. (@slava) - Sketchfab

Also I love his modular hotrods

Those look sick, will the colors also be procedural generated?

Yes
So the mech will be generated based on the tag’s ID but I plan on letting you choose between a few variations to make sure you don’t end up with one you don’t like. I thought the color could be treated the same way.

I’ll put my previous robot generator as a free asset on the asset store probably.

Hey cyberpeeps and chipomates we’re exremely close to 100 downloads
I’ve also decided on a name for the coming NFC game: MechaTag and I now have almost 1000 assets to procedurally generate the mechs :exploding_head:

Also if you could leave a rating for the app on Google Play that wold be sweet and help a lot with referencing in search results :green_heart:

ZINC - made by a Biohacker for Biohackers

ZINC is a multi-tool app that gives humans with implanted augmentations another way to interact with the tech under their skin.

As a community-driven platform, it allows users to manage, study, interact and enjoy their bio-tech in a sleek and intuitive environment which is also customisable.

Key Features:

  • NFC Tools:
(Power Scan, NFC Scan, NDEF Manager)
  • The app features modernized NFC tools specifically tailored for cyborgs, enabling seamless interactions with implantable devices.
  • Biomagnet Features: ZINC includes biomagnet features that work in tandem with the LODESTONE haptic devices, which can be ordered online or DIY
  • Experimentation Platform: ZINC is ever evolving and improving, it is designed as a testing ground for various interactions with your implantable tech.

Pros:

  • Community-driven: ZINC is developed independently, allowing for a more personalised interaction with a developer who is directly involved with the community. The developer is willing and able to implement suggestions from fellow cyborgs.
  • Experimental and Evolving: The app is already functioning extremely well but also under-development status means that features can be updated and improved regularly often times at the requests of users.
  • Planned for the future:
    Feed (DangerousThings Forum link)
    Terminal (NFC Shell Commands)
    Vivokey (Interact with Vivokey products)
  • Customizable: Users can tailor their experience with ZINC to suit their specific needs and preferences with different skins
  • Prosperity recording implant information including dates and physical location of implant installations

Cons:

  • Nothing found yet:

Conclusion:

ZINC is an exciting and ambitious project that has already transformed the world of human augmentations. The app’s features and community-driven approach to development make it an attractive option for those interested in exploring the possibilities of implantable technologies.

I don’t know what kind of google shenaniganizations are going on, but there’s at least one floating around in the void, waiting to be published…

I imagine there are more too…

Yup! I saw yours
Indeed Google show whatever they want to whoever they want. Often you’ll only see reviews from people in the same region with a similar device.
I allows them to manipulate numbers as they wish because why wouldn’t they do that

Out of curiosity, is the “body map” inspired at all by the cyberware screen in Cyberpunk 2077 by chance?

Nope I had not seen that! Theirs looks a lot better tbh but I have some plans, still looking for a 3D artist…
That’s good inspiration

Honestly Pilgrimaster’s screenshots sold me on the app more than the “real” features. I’ve played that game through 4 times now and always wanted that for myself.

And don’t feel bad about theirs looking better. They had the budget of CD Projekt Red and like 10 years to dev it. Plus they have more… Limited implants as far as location goes. [Entire right hand] [both forearms] [both eyes]

If you can find footage of someone using that menu who has more than 3 or 4 implants (in game), it has some nice “zooming” camera angles you might like yourself. (Or I could grab you some footage myself)

Yeah that’s the tricky part, I want to have all possible locations. I have a plan to use the 3D mesh triangles as locations and I can do some shader stuff to make it look awesome :fire:

Yeah would love to see that

Not anywhere near my PC right now, but this should do the trick.

I particularly like the squares on the sides that feature some of your implants with a photo of it wink wink.

It is legitimately stunning, however, that you ended up with such a similar, albeit more classy and less Terminator install map.
