@amal I saw in a thread a while back (can’t find it now) that you had some HID Omnikey 5022 readers, and that they were “dog shit” without a repeater sticker on them. Have you tried using one of those with a module antenna? Curious if that performs more acceptably.
Oh absolutely they work fine with modules.. but they work fantastic all with the large repeater discs.

I too have an apex flex and flexsecure for those reasons 
However, now my champion module is sitting on my desk.
I’m excited for the range upgrade for the module and the space for more apps and payments. That’s enough for me to consider the $1000 price tag plus DT has amazing support, and I also have a few thousand dollars worth of DT hardware installed

Did you have to touch it to the reader? Or was it hovering? I couldn’t tell.
Either way this is super exciting! I got mine set up, etherfi set up and need to test too!

I think it was touching or very close, but I feel confident I would’ve been able to hover over it with no problem and still get a read.

The module is designed to get around 2cm center offset from payment terminals. This is the minimum EMV L1 certification for contactless payment devices. I’ve found that some terminals are worse and some are better.

I believe the antenna is tuned for in vivo.
so once installed (and your body healed), the range SHOULD be better

With the Apex Ring Conversion module, most readers I don’t have to touch at all. The only thing is that I need to keep the implant still for a longer period of time vs. a normal card.

I had JUST gotten mine earlier today and this thing is AMAZING. I installed most of the applets I could and now it can provide payment, emulate a YubiKey, and has an NDEF partition for that classic Android tap thingy.
This thing is a BEAST. I’m so glad I reached out to get a better understanding of what I’m in for. There is so much more I need to learn about this but installation imminent and life long happiness coming soon. 
Blessings to you DT Team for this amazing piece of equipment. Y’all have changed my life in the best ways possible and continue to do so. Keep it up.

One curious question I have is what do you use your Apex 2 chip for? I intend on having it as a backup for payment, using the OTP and FIDO2 for just about everything that asked for 2FA, and putting contact information in the NDEF partition. Where does the Curve25519 portion play in? Can I explore past the rails of the Fidesmo / Apex application with installing applets? What other magic stuff can I set myself up for?
Maybe these have been asked before in the forums, and I apologize, but with this being the Apex 2, I wonder what else can be done.

We are working on support for this in an update for the pgp applet.
Not really, only applications published by us through Fidesmo can be installed.
We’ve not announced it yet but we just published a PIV applet. You might also want to check out the CMAC signature feature of the ndef (NFC Sharing) application that works with the VivoKey Verify API (Verify API - VivoKey Inc.) for validation.

Agh, just found this thread while looking for the other apex thread for pics for hand placement.
I’m down to be a “champion” if there’s any left and if I can return the Apex Conversion module that just got delivered and pay the difference lol
I’m always striving to get the next best thing (especially when it’s gonna go into my body for a long time)
