Keeping the videos on loop all day - hope it helps! <3
I have a feeling YT is not counting repeat hours… like re-watching videos… damn.
My iPad is all day and night with premium account this must be more than 100 hours from the last count
Any chance you could get interviewed a coupla times? Making the news would be awesome, but just a couple of good podcasts could give you the bump you need.
Sounds like some vpn action is needed
I would make sure to clear cookies and sign out as well, can’t be sure they’re only tracking via IP (incognito mode + VPN would probably work best).
Alternatively, could maybe just spam the hell out of it outside of the DT family
Pay for a reddit ad. When you get close to release, amal can DM me and I can start going around and announcing it
Or, make a viral post involving a dude with implants doing the cool stuff!
Incognito works too… easier
40 hours total watch time in two days. Either they’re using interesting math, or playing on a loop isn’t helping.
Guessing they only count 1 view per ip
Or
Videos in playlists don’t count towards play hours at all
I have them running in a couple of incognito windows. I’ll see if that helps.
I don’t think it’s likely that the second could possibly be true, as 300 hours were still added, even though it has now slowed down.
(plus it would be really unfair to creators to not give them credit for views, just become some rando threw them in a playlist)
I’d say IP detection is the most likely. Anyone with a VPN account, I would again recommend incognito+VPN for best results.
I’m wondering if watch hours are treated separately from views
A playlist may generate views but not watch hours, as it would make it easier to game
…kinda like what we are trying to do lol
That still wouldn’t explain the major increase in hours. The channel is multiple years old, and had over that time, accumulated ~3000 watch hours. That tells me that normal views, not from this thread, are honestly likely to be negligible, and can’t even come close to explaining a 10% increase in 2 weeks.
The length of the playlist is 4 hours, 20 minutes, and 20 seconds.
To explain the extra 300 hours, dividing it by 4.34 hours means that 69 (nice) people have watched the playlist in it’s entirety, from the perspective of YouTube. Seeing as how 38 people have commented in this thread, that accounts for everyone watching it through once, and a few people having luck with VPNs or other means, or a few lurkers still contributing.
The watch hour calculation still makes sense with the playlist, assuming they throw away multiple views from each person (1 per person).
This could also be explained as well that multiple very dedicated people aren’t using the playlist, but judging by the view count on the playlist, I would say that must here are using it. It would be very difficult to rack up this many hours manually, without a ton of people.
Let’s try burning this particular candle from the other end. So, we need another 648 hours and we have 69 viewers. Time for a 10 hour video for all of us to watch.
@amal just needs to livestream everything he does for the next two days!
Or just two, five hour ones.
Pick a project that is 5 hours a piece.
