So I got myself a Razer Blackwidow V4 Mini Hyperspeed wich is a 65% modular keyboard. And I decided to pull out one switch out of curiosity… Which ended up in my cup of tea… So I cleaned the switch and waited for the lube to arrive as this keyboard came lubed from the factory.

While the cleaned switch felt identical to the rest, I took it apart again today and lubed it. And now I need to remove every single switch and lube it… And I also need to do a modular mod to my old board and lube the switches… Help!

The lubed switch feels and sounds a lot better! As if this wasn’t the best keyboard I ever had.

Look at what you’ve done, @Hamspiced!

Lubing switches is seriously a zen experience for me. I do all at once, and it seems like its nothing. i have a nice little paintbrush i bought from michaels and i do it assembly line style. Bought a cheap switch lubing station on Amazon and i do a bunch all at once.

lubed switches are amazing. wait till you hear about filming them…

I’m going to need one of those, I’ll see if I can 3D print one. Taking the switches apart with a pair of tweezers is not fun.

Oh no. You need a switch puller and a switch disassembly tool

This would work just throw away the grease

Unsure if this is worthy, but:

Just ordered a Keychron K4 Max with Brown switches (hotswap, rgb)

I plan on swapping the switches and keycaps later this year.

Any suggestions for switches? Tactile is a must.

I absolutely love lubed Anubis switches from Cannonkeys

Any suggestions on where to get decent (not stellar) thick keycaps for somewhat cheap? I plan on grabbing multiple sets over time, so no need to get amazing keycaps.

I have some used sets if you’re interested.

Otherwise keyboard groups on Facebook is a great way to get cheap keycaps

I am not going to turn down an offer

Any decent brands I should look into if I were to buy new, just as a place to start?

GMMK is the gold standard.

However any double shot, pbt keys are good.

I have a SEAL V1 that has moderate use. Pay shipping and it’s yours.

I’ll go through some other sets I have when I get back from my work trip next week

Those do seem nice, and I would be interested in that set. Thank you for the offer! Let me know what else you’ve got when you have time!

Anybody tried Glorious Mako switches? I’m looking into the ultralight version at the moment.
