Silly question, but have you checked the battery? The pictures will help, when you can.
I have upgraded your user level so you can share pictures
Thanks! Looking forward to the pics.
I think I may have found your issue. I believe that the thinner yellow wire is going to be the starter, not the thicker one. Have you also connected the brake switch to the module?
Thatās probably why but the thinner yellow wire is part of the little connector that plugs in to the top of the ignition housing are you sure that is gonna be the starter? Then the ther yellow goes to the Connector that plugs in to the back of the fuse panel so i have older harness to show you because right now itās snowing balls and I donāt want to have too go out there tonpulll it all out so hereās some pics to show you so what iām holding in the first pic is the connector that goes to the top of the housing thatās the thin yellow wire then goes down to the ignition control module or whatever that big plug is the 10 pin Picture as thicker yellow that goes into the plug behind the fuse Panel then all of those wires and go up to the ignition switch again this is just an extra harness well an old one, so donāt mind the mess. Hopefully, thatās a better picture.
Also how do i share pics am using an iPhone
I donāt have your vehicle in front of me to verify, but I am relatively sure. You can see it labeled in this image from this forum.
Additionally, in this screenshot from this video, you can see that the documentation labels the starter as the yellow wire connected to Pin D in the black 7 pin connector on the ignition switch.
Photos would be still be helpful when you have a moment.
So Iām getting a new ignition switch harness and housing and cylinder today so after I do the housing and new harness Iāll install from a fresh start Ill let you know how it goes
So Iāll still confused when Iām the instructions it says all of the 12v wires need to be hooked up to the red wire on the guard harness then also it says if there is two accessory wires in the harness connect both accessory wires with the blue does that mean the brown and the orange wire for my ignition harness both need to be hooked up to the blue wire?
Can you send a picture of the instructions? I think I tossed mine, and I just want to make sure Iām referencing the correct wire colors.
Jumping back to the older posts in the thread, I donāt quite understand this:
The point of the barrel is to make sure that only the matching key can turn the ignition. If the barrel has already been removed exposing the ignition switch, it seems pointless to hide the barrel and tools around the car just so that you can reinstall the barrel and turn it using the key, when you could just jam a key, a flat head screwdriver, or a popsicle stick directly into the switch.
So whatās the word?
I need help anyone ?
Your original wiring was almost correct, but there were a couple things you missed.
-
The thinner yellow wire is the starter, not the thicker one.
-
You need the 12v from the easyguard (RED) to be connected to the RED/WHITE and RED wire on the ignition harness. These are both 12v constant.
-
The accessory wire from the easyguard (BLUE) should be connected to both of the accessory wires on your ignition harness BROWN and ORANGE.
-
Have you connected the green wire on the two pin connector to the foot brake?
-
Do you have a key immobilizer?
Yes I just put a new ignition lock cylinder housing and the cylinder I had too to the key relearn last night also so just to make sure Iām clear does that mean I have to run a jumper wire to be able too connect the two acc wipers to the blue wire and the. Again with my two 12v wires too the red wire on the easy guard harness? And yes I did connect the break wire
Connect the wires however you see fit.
But what iām asking is The blue wire have to connect to both accessory wires? And the Red wire is connected to both 12 V wires on the ignition harness, right? Thatās what its saying ?
Yes.
