The page says

The flexEM is one of our next generation, high performance, 125kHz RFID transponders with a T5577 chip inside.

And

The DESFire EV2 8kB NFC Type 4 multi-application chip inside the flexEM allows large, cryptographically secured data storage.

Just an FYI @amal @mdanger

This is why the Product announcements is my favourite category, followed closely by projects.
I love seeing the new stuff Amal has been working on.
But,
Damn you and such Amal, I thought I had all my implants planned out, Where am I going to put that???

AND the best thing about it is

" the flexEM allows large, cryptographically secured data storage."
The website says so, so it must be true.

YAY, REALLY REALLY wasn’t expecting that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I so want one but… Install looks like it wouldn’t be fun… It’s only 2hrs to one of the body modification partners I guess…

confirm with them first that they are willing and able to perform this installation… it cannot be done with a needle… a scalpel and sutures are involved and not every partner is able to do that work.

If they can’t I’d just go somewhere that can  my best friend is a nurse.

Are there any places around Seattle? Do you guys do installs?

But yeah should probably check.

Yeah about that. I think this one would be the limit of what I would feel comfy doing with my skill set. Been around plenty of open heart sugeries, been taught enough, and I confidently feel I can do this to me.

Sorry @DrinkABeard, not gonna help ya on this if you want it.

I’m very excited and I’m about to pull the trigger/order one.
When do you expect to ship this product?
How large is the box/packaging for flexEM going to be? Is there a way to specify this product to be shipped in an envelope?

Thanks

Also, how “flexible” is the flexEM? My guess is it’s pretty rigid given it has multiple coil layers. Flexibility is not a requirement (for me), just something to take into consideration when planning implant location.
