Glow Powder Cuttings and Tattoos

What was your process with the tattoo needle?

Hand poking only. And it takes alot of it.

Worth mentioning again, I do NOT recommend. Not that it will stop people on here from doing much more brutal stuff to themselves, but…

Anyhow. Here is a proper update on how is looki…-glowing, yeahyeah I know. :upside_down_face: Still tbc. The plan is to add more dots but SAD really hit me hard this winter.

So hand poke and then grind the powder into it?

Highly doubt that would work, have not tried it. But no, I use the powder as ink. It behaves like sand when you mix it with water so I like to make more of a paste out of it. I have yet to find a better carrier… It’s hard to work with and dries out pretty fast, but it works.

You put it in the gun?

@pingy Have you check the glow powder info post?

Yeah, it says it destroys tattoo guns, from my search, hand poking involves a hot sewing needle.

I can’t say anything about it destroying machines. But the powder is hard enough that it wears down the needle, basically sanding it down and you end up with residue from the needle in your skin. Yes, even from hand poking.

Using a tattoo machine is out of the question in my opinion.

And…

You probably found ā€Stick and pokeā€.

You can make pretty decent tattoos by hand poking. AND with the right equipment. :upside_down_face:

Pen ink and sewing needles ā€disinfectedā€ with a lighter is not really my thing, thats why I don’t like to call it that even if i’m not a real artist.

This has nothing to do with the glow powder, sorry but, my most recent work. Took almost 2 days to poke. IYKYK.

Well guys, I did it, I couldn’t figure out how to break skin, but I opened my punch, so I might as well go for it. Now, I honestly think I might have the coolest tattoo out of any of y’all.

I forgot to take a pic during the procedure, but here’s how it looked when the bandaid/newskin combo fell off. At the moment, I’m a little worried it ain’t gonna glow all the time, I had to get it under a black light for this shot.

If it rejects it, it’s all good because I think I want it to be a smaller punch

5 done out of 9 or 7, I ain’t quite figured out how I want to measure with the CM.

What do you guys think, should I get one every 5 CM, or every 3? I got 15 CM, so I could get it at:

0, 5, 10, and 15

or

0, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15

I’m keeping an eye on this thread hoping we eventually find a reliable way to get this working via tattoo implementation. As you can see from the attached pics, I have the perfect tattoo for some glowing highlights, but due to the intricate detailing in the tattoo and the small accurate gaps I’ll need to fill, I’m reluctant to go with the scarring route because a) it’s damn near impossible to find someone in the UK who will do it now since the Dr Evil case and b) any slight inaccuracy will risk botching the tattoo itself which would be less than ideal. I’ve never had any scarification done, but I’ve experienced just normal injury cuts before that, even though small, have left much bigger scars on tighter skin than I would have expected, hence my trepidation about using that method between such intricate line work. Would absolutely love a more precise method as, again, its just begging for some green glowy highlights!
