Just got another xSIID in Right P1 last night! I could already read it through the bandage. Iā€™m a little concerned that we didnā€™t go in far enough but I guess we will see when the bandage comes off tonight before bathing. That was the case with my xG3 in Left P1, but it settled into a good place, so Iā€™m hoping for the best. Also planning a rock climbing trip this Wednesday, so probably not the best timing, but I have to work with when my nurse friend is available.
Canā€™t wait to see my new :blinky_white: !

So, this doesnā€™t look ideal. I took the bandage off tonight, and I found that the xSIID is so far forward that itā€™s between my knuckles. I can see the chip end bulging through the skin, and the LED end appears to be pretty far buried. I tried to push it farther down my hand, but it would not budge. This is a white LED. Itā€™s readable, but the LED is barely noticeable except in a dark room. It is sore (as to be expected) but not outright painful.

What would you do, cyborgs? Is this unsafe in any way?

Hey, this is identical to how my xG3 got placed in L1. It eventually moved a little bit, maybe by a few mm. Hereā€™s a pic. Take note of the scar location compared to the implant. I would say youā€™re probably fine, just watch it and see how it progresses.

Itā€™s not ideal to go in that far forward of the knuckles. Even though it seems riskier I would have placed next to the vein further back;

The reason being that the implant will always creep back towards and sometimes past the incision as the far end of the pockets zippers closed as it heals.

This is how it was with my xG3 on my other hand in P1. I feel like that one is perfect. So for the xSIID. Do you recommend removal? Or is this technically safe, just not ideal?

Itā€™s just not ideal. If it.causes range of motion issues or pain then removal but for now you can try taking down a foam nerf bullet type object overtop to keep it pushed in while healing

For now, it feels a bit weird, but that might just be the position and the healing process. No pain as of yet. Iā€™m going rock climbing tomorrow, so that will probably be the real test. Iā€™m hoping I can keep it, despite its weird location, however, in the event it causes pain tomorrow, what is the removal procedure most people have used? Would an urgent care have the ability to do this, or would I need to see a body mod specialist?

basically from what i have seen, its slice, and then a pimple popper method. Just kinda coax it out where it went in. i think you might be fine, just put something near the opening to discourage it migrating.

I believe there was also the ā€˜flush it out with salineā€™ method, where you basically repeat the install process but you pump in saline to make it even more pimple-like.

This has been discussed but after trying it 4 times on 2 different people, I have not had success with this method yet.

Your nurse friend would be more than capableā€¦
But fingers crossed you dond have to

That might just work to keep it in place :wink:
