Peter Diamandis gets a VivoKey Apex Flex ā¦
Always nice to see more 5mm needle videos - thereās not a great deal around the web
Not sure who Peter Diamandis is but he seems like a cool guy.
Heās done a lot of stuff but probably the coolest thing IMO is that he founded XPRIZE.
Just finished watching some videos on Peter and XPRIZE, so I will revise my original comment:
āhe really is a cool guyā ![]()
Ended up removing this- the skin was too thick/it was too deep to get any visible glow even after charging with a UV light in a dark room. Managed to cut between the lines of the tattoo, and Iām planning to put it back in somewhere more visible.
That removal looks pretty rough. What happened? Tell us all about it! Why did it need removed? How was it removed? Was it damage during removal or is that how bad it was in your body?
So the customer got told by his work that he couldnāt have it anymore. He works for a military contractor on base and they gave him the ultimatium to remove it or lose his position.
In Virginia Iām not legally allowed to use a scalpel and considering he filmed the removal for work I was left to use a 10g needle and make small slices at the injection point. Little by little as to not go to deep or cut to wide. Less trauma the better.
the chip was a glass one and on removal with the hemostats the end cracked off while I was pulling it out. Luckily it didnāt come apart until it was completely removed.
The blackening on the inside of the chip was there when I removed it. Iām assuming it had been cracked at some point and took on blood.
the customer stated that if the ruling changes at work he will be getting another one lol
DT uses black resin inside of most X series implants but some use clear resin instead.
I know that there were some instances in which the end ācapā broke off on glass encapsulated magnets and it was always a clean break from what I remember. New magnets are now encapsulated in resin and no longer suffer from this issue.
I doubt that a DT implant would crack in a way thatās different from the behavior of the glass magnets unless thereās a serious accident. And to my knowledge, the only chip that broke in someone was the result of a horse related accidentā¦
Still, the fact that Amal wanted to know why it broke gives me a lot of confidence in the only company that has managed to get under my skin.
hmm which one? we are working on some projects with potential mil applications.. would like to know who we need to be sensitive about.. DM me?
the ones with optical components like xSIID, NExT v2, etc. use clear resin. The rest of the x-series use dark grey / black medical resin.
Wie, thatās a huge magnet. Especially for a solo/DIY install, congratulations on succeeding ![]()
Can I ask why you are wearing a glove for a diy installation? I thought it was only needed to protect the installer from any bloodborne diseases.
Im shoving my finger in the wound.
Donāt want to do that with bare fingers. There can be so much stuff beneath fingernails etc.
Oh, that makes sense, thank you. I have never done anything except x-series installs, so I didnāt think of that ![]()
Mostly yes but also makes keeping things relatively clean much easier
I wonder if hand surgeons ever watch these and have heart palpitations?
