I am still not sure where to put it. I am right handed, I sometimes wear a watch on the left hand side.
Considering a daily use of the Ring conversion (module) at all sort of payment terminals: what would be a convenient place for the implant? Spot 1, 2 or 3? (The blue area has my Apex flex module)
So all of those spots are really close to your finger tendons. I’d recommend extreme caution placing it there (read: don’t).
I do know that @caj380 has his on his (left?) Forearm and I believe he likes the placement. Want to weigh in caj380?

considering the application, i would put a piece of tape on your arm and try presenting that tape to all the payment terminals you come across. I think you’ll find the underarm is a lot less convenient than the top of the forearm

I have a module top of forearm as well. I use mine with my computer, my phone and payment terminals. It works well for all of those, i just needed to mount my pc reader in a better spot.
I debated back of hand, but put some other things there instead. Top of forearm has worked well for me.
Why not the back of your hand between the fourth and fifth metacarpals?
The Module is too big for my hand. Also: the corners of the impant are quite visible.

I put mine near the wrist, the front end lands about where a watchface would sit. So it is a bit back from the wrist. Crucially i do not wear a watch on the side my module is installed.
This area doesn’t twist much, so it won’t flex or bend the implant. But i can easily present it to payment terminals. The spot you show would be very awkward to present to a standard payment terminal.
Like Amal mentioned put some tape were you think you want it, then try the way you want to use it and make sure you are ok with it. Its a compromise between where you would like it, and where you can/should put it.

1 and 2 look awkward for using a payment terminal. 3 puts the implant in an area that changes shape dramatically when I flex my hand–I suspect it would murder an implant within six months to a year. Back of the wrist where a watch would go, as others have suggested, seems to be the best compromise between longevity and ease of use.

I love it! It works great for payments (basically the same motion as paying with watch) but where it really shines is when using it with your phone. It’s the perfect position for that. With the module, I can even pay or read it with my phone through my thick winter coat.

Currently debating between the Module and the Spectrum. The blinkies are undoubtable a big appeal for me. You say that the Spectrum is less performant than the Module, but just how much less? Blinkies would be nice, but not at the cost of any significant amount of functionality.
Also, I know we discussed previously @amal the knife edge placement of my MuchBetter conversion (which I still haven’t had physical issues with! It’s still just bricked by their backlog of fixes for the widespread freeze and after 6+ months I’m bored of waiting) how do we feel about it with either of these form factors? I know wrist/forearm placement seems to be the most popular choice here but 2 primary issues for me, the first being the intricate cyberpunk tattoo down my arm and hand I’ve shown on here before being a potential issue for scalpel work, and secondly a lot of drive through windows here are fixed positions and would be very awkward to get my elbow out of my (very low) car window enough to hold my forearm perpendicular, if that is indeed required for a good read. Then there’s the whole prison-officer-uses-his-hands-and-wrists-regularly of it all to consider (though, again, no issues on the knife edge flex in 2+ years).

I think you could put the module in or around P2 or P3 in the hand and be fine. Are you doing a lot of grappling or people grabbing the skin of your hand and trying to deglove you? If so then maybe not, and I would go for the wrist area.. how do people with apple watches pay at these fixed readers? Would it be possible to get your wrist in position?

Re the rest; we aren’t blessed with tazers, less lethal or firearms like yall will be over there (even our PAVA - pepper spray - is legally a firearm and our use is limited strictly to in the orison only, and therefore when we escort a prisoner in public we cant carry it, only the police can have it 
) so all of our control and restraint is done by hand, back of the hand shouldn’t take too many direct knocks but wrists are occasionally cuffed (the prisoners are cuffed TO us during escort) which is another reason I’m slightly hesitant with forearm.

If you’ve nothing in the opposite hand just get the I/c of the escort to cuff that wrist.
I’ve got seven at the mo, both hands and wrists and haven’t had any issues with them thankfully.. but then again, I make sure if I’m cuffed I’m not as tightly cuffed as the con.
No issues with the other implants during wrap ups either so far, I think the most hassle had just been with the Security Gov when the body scanners kept getting triggered by me lol.
Love this relevant info!! Truth be told being in ops I’m usually IC anyway, it was more of a covering all my bases train of thought but you’re right, I can always cuff left. Since the paperwork change our discharging CMs have been a LOT more strict on how tight the officer is cuffed as well as the con but that’s workable. Any difficulty with the drive through readers for you?
Aha luckily the security governor owes me a LOT of favours and i always disclose my new implants to them, my last jail was a bit more twitchy about it but an hour long explanation later and all was gravy there too 
Still not entirely sure how to not butcher my tattoo in the install process though
