Have you considered a Steam Deck?

I donā€™t have any experience with them but

Iā€™ve thought of it. But when it comes down to it, I have a switch if I really want to game on the go.

I donā€™t really want to game on the go. Also, I can hook an Xbox controller to a computer. And a desktop would give me significant more access.

I know building a computer is usually better, but I would buy an Alienware (or equivalent, and im considering buying one based off the name alone.) if anyone knows of one. Iā€™m too lazy to read exactly which parts I need.

Guess I also need to work on some stuff. Ha.

Yeah, I also have a Switch (Modded) otherwise I would likely grab a Steam Deck, I am not across the deck and accessories, but if it is like a Switch and has a dock to play on the big screen, THAT is a pretty good option.

Alienware are great and you will spend a bit of coin on one, there are alternatives in the gaming PC realm of course.

What about a console?

I have an Xbox 1.

I really just want to buy a computer finally.

I can internet
I can game
I can computer things

Yeah. Got ya!

If you find CSGO game info, it should tell you minimum computer requirements.

Thatā€™s where I would reccomend you start your ā€œputerā€ search.
Remember to future proof yourself and find any games you think you may want to play, and /or check that your PC is capable of upgrades without needing to rebuild the whole rig to do so.

Have you thought about what resolution youā€™re wanting to play at? That significantly impacts what hardware youā€™ll need for playing games at decent framerates. These days middle of the road hardware should be able to run most games at 60fps or more at 1440p.

It has been a year or two since Iā€™ve looked at where the hardware on the market is currently sitting and what the pricing is like. Defs shop around for other prebuilt companies. Their pricing can vary by quite a lot.

Whatā€™s ā€œmiddle of the roadā€ mean in terms of video card?

Iā€™d say something around the 300 or 400 dollar mark like a 1070 or 2060. Theyā€™re not the best of the best and also not garbage. I run a 1070ti in my desktop and it can do most games at a minimum of 60fps at 1440p.

Especially with the gpu prices dropping rapidly (theyā€™ll be even lower now that the 4080 and 4090 was announced to release in October)
