Thatās good to hear! Not that it will solve all problems, no way, but itās really good to see that someone who behaved like a total madman the last days (well, more the last few yearsā¦ or, decades even) is no longer capable of ruining a country, the lives of its inhabitants and every single international relationship. I just hope that Trump will accept the outcome (and his more radical followers as well), otherwise I am a bit nervous on what might happenā¦

Itās not official yet. Electoral college has not cast their votes yet and heās not been sworn in.
Now, If we went on convention, then yes he has won. but nothing has been normal in the US for the last 4 years.

Biden will and should be hated. All politicians of any national significance (i.e. not your local mayor who genuinely wants to make things better for their constituents) got to where they are by conning, deceiving and double-crossing a lot of people. No politician is an honest man with goodness at heart and an interest in the welfare of others.
Rich Hall said it best: always remember that a guy who runs for president is a guy who woke up one day, looked at himself in the mirror while shaving, and thought āI know what the country needs, and itās MEā.

Iām sure weāll have crazy crazy crazy until itās all official and Biden is sworn in, maybe even a little after, but it wonāt be this supersized turbocharged my-hair-is-on-fire level of constant calamity and mayhem.

Iāve been fairly tight lipped, because with current climate, the idea of not liking Biden immediately means you must me a racist closeted homophobic high school drop out
Really sucks that we gotten to that point of politics that you canāt have different perspectives or priorities without the other side dehumanizing
Both candidates were the worst from both parties if you ask me
(I wish we had a āreshuffleā option on the ballot)
Iām not a red or blue voter, purple? but Iād be lying if gun control wasnāt a serious topic do to a number of reasons
1 candidate who is terrible, claims to be a defender of gun rights, has stabbed us in the back routinely, but largely was incapable of doing anything meaningful either way because he ran his mouth constantly and nobody would work with him because he is the worst
1 candidate who is likely as corrupt, but possibly senileā¦ bu everything is ignored because orange badā¦ has previously devastated gun rights and wants to do it again with no sunset clause this time, and will likely have the political capital to do whatever he wants if/when the rest of the legislative branch goes blue, and then thereās the possibility they will artificially alter the balance of the courts
I personally want the government to be too busy fighting each other to continue whittling down what little rights we have left and inserting themselves in more and more of my life
This election was / is / and will continue to be a dumpster fire

Itās the old problem of only having 2 choices.
That is because people only have one vote, itās a stupid system.
You can only choose between bad and not so bad because voting for your actual favourite just means bad is more likely to win.

Random uncaffeinated offshoot thought from the āSome custom flex workā thread talking about the NFC nail implants.
A number of NFC field emitters assembled into a matrix and controlled by a computer that is running a program to vary the strengths and play with interference patterns to make certain areas stronger or weakerā¦ not put that whole assembly under a bed and someone with a few of the nails implanted around their body could make their lights flicker and danceā¦ that sounds fun as hell.

It is very very important to me that owning a gun here requires several steps of approval and e.g. no one can have a frigging missle launcher.
Iād vote 2 or 3 to show how important it is that firearms are heavily regulated.
(Heavily regulated == if you use them for hunting or sports, ok, if you want to protect yourself, no.)
No normal person should own a gun!
