The

Was too good to have disappear into the derailment thread.
So it now has its own Project thread

Ok, surely this is derailment worthy… Maybe I could do something useful with this.

  • Alarm clock
  • Morse code out certain notifications/alerts as they come in (CI/deploy/backup jobs, NVR object detections). I have my ringtones/notification sounds for certain contacts in my phone setup this way. Useful to tell who it is without picking up the phone (provided I’m not wearing my watch and the phone isn’t on silent…)
  • Pomodoro timer
  • Calendar reminders

Just spitballin’ here…

I use buzzer control codes in my batch script for our open smart card products. Nothing Morse level haha.

Whatever happened to Rosco?

I remember last time I was around circa 2020 he was posting all the time, same with coma, backpacking vet, and a few other names that currently escape me.

literally rosco..

though he used the field itself and actually had to talk to ACS directly to get a firmware update for the ACR122U in order to make this work at speed. works with blinky implants

still.. great work

bahaha that’s awesome. I still love pinching the mains cable going to the ancient linear PSU powering my ham shack when doing CW/morse.

One of these days I will finish this project. Essentially, I want to something like the ā€œtool gunā€ from Garrys mod, but with a 3d printed TPU finger on the end with a magnetometer embedded in the finger tip. Some kind of screen and or speaker to provide feedback similar to that of a finger magnet.

Sure, a phone has all the sensors and this could all be done in an app, but it’s not the same . I want something unique I can hand to people.

Didn’t see eye to with a few people and couldn’t be bothered with the drama

Coma popped back not too long ago, and does do on rare occasions.

BPV we haven’t seen in a while but really hope he is doing well

Ah fair enough, I suppose you can’t please everyone..

I’m glad, I have extremely fond memories of that particular time in my life and the people I got to interact with on the forums.

I hope both him, and everyone else is/are doing well!

I used to use chatgpt alot, but then started using gemini cause it was a bit smarter, but especially cause it didn’t lock you out after X to the nth prompts.

Anyways, lately i put a few things to chatgpt and it seems to have surpassed gemini (for now), but it’s practically begging for me to upload a picture. Best I can tell is cause that causes it to timeout that much faster and push you into a paid tier.

Is this just generic corporate monetize everything attitude, or are we maybe seeing the limits of what a mega corp can sustain financially? Data centers ain’t free, right?

I’m wondering if the AI revolution is starting to have sand in the gears that will stall it out (a.k.a. cashflow), or if we’re headed for a redirection, like a lighter / nimbler / lower powered AI system?

I seem to move up and down. But I don’t want to waste people’s time giving meaningless replies when I don’t know what I am talking about.

It would be nice if it just had a TSMC55 option which left me as a regular!

Have I now caused you to loop?? Lol
