Damn, that was pretty much my feeling as well 
Thing is, the developer themselves recommended this site for German users, simply because the steam shop site of their game is just not available in Germany. And I just friggin hate censorship, it just makes me want the (otherwise just mildly interesting) game more. Just on principle.
