Photopeaâs great, itâs what I used to make my edit earlier. The warp function in free-transform is super nice.
I use the quick-select brush a ton, and photopea is the only Photoshop alternative afaik that has that.

After their last comment, I was searching my sticker folder for a unicorn with a raised middle finger. Didnât find one, so I guess this one is most appropriateâŠ
I love those absolutishms. âTHE studyâ.
You know what is the thing that has been published the most lately? Bogus and Biased studieS. There are literally thousands of them.
I even saw one, signed by my homecountry minister of health, which stated âOnly vaccinated people get covid.â (then you go to look at the study, and it had less than 10 people as the study group, all selected because they had covid after taking the first jab. And no control group.)
But ok, letâs assume you read THE study, written by an almighty and unbiased source. So mind if I dissecate your arguments?
This is both true and untrue.
At an individual level, being vaccinated does not preventing you from infecting someone else.
If you vaccinate only 1 individual out of 1K, they will catch and transmit it, just because the virus, by definition, will mutate and invalidate the vaccine just because it is going back and forth on everyone else.
If you vaccinate 1K individuals out of the 1K, then the study will show you that being vaccinated stops you from spreading.
Thatâs how vaccines work. they NEED a high percentage of the population to be imunized otherwise they are inefective.
This high percentage is directly correlated to how fast the virus can spread and mutate. and we know Covid spreads and mutates very fast. Thereforefore we need a very high percentage.
Do you know that âViral Loadâ means nothing on itâs own?
Is it the viral load of what?
If we are talking about expectorated mucus Viral Load, then I would expect to see a difference.
But if we are talking about blood current Viral Load, there should be no difference!
This is because a Vaccine does not prevent you from getting in contact with the virus. It will make it so that your body will fight the virus off quicker and reduce how much of it you release.
But if you infect two individuals, by the time you collect their blood and sample it, the viral load will be the same, no matter if one of them is vaccinated and the other is not.
Heck, if youâre fast enough even a dead guyâs viral load will be the same in that scenario!
Now, given how much faster is measuring viral loads with a blood sample than via natural expectoration (mostly considering how little would a vaccinated individual expectorate), then it is expected studies will take that approach.
SoâŠ
If you are gonna bark at others for not reading âThe Studyâ, then please do yourself a favour and learn how to read a study.
Because right now, you are the one who seems to be
If you are to quote studies on a scientifically oriented community, you should first do a critical reading of them.
Goddammit, what sort of mess did I wake up toâŠ
I can tell that someone knows how to think.
Also, this:
Somehow Iâm not responsible for the umpteenth vaccine discussion
The problem with Jimmy Carr is, whatever he says and however right he may be, he kind of lost the right to open his trap and voice his opinions after he got caught cheating on his taxes.
So very much!! * _ *
Itâs one of the sites I make a point of letting ads run instead of blocking!
Not only the product is great but they also managed a very non-intrusive way of handling ads!! ^^
Appreciate! ^^
And yes, I did work with research and had the luck of finding a bunch of Great Mentors during my Uni years.
And that video is brilliant!!
Thanks for the share!
Wait⊠is that something weâre not supposed to do?? o.O
I meanâŠ
(On the conditional they wonât end up mostly in someoneâs pocket or wasted in imbecile dead-end projectsâŠ)
you can honestly fuck right off with this.
over 5 million people have died from covid and youre here crying about how its âmore like the fluâ maybe try stepping outside your conservative echo chamber and realize that this is 5 million family members, loved ones, brothers/sisters/moms/dads. five million.
its clear youâ re just here to spread dangerous covid misinformation and fearmonger, and arenât here for productive discussions on implants. i am surprised you havent been banned yet. go back to parler
Consider for a moment the reason covid seems so much less dangerous to you is because people are taking it so seriously. Spanish flu during wartime had ample ability to spread unchecked⊠there was a war on, no reason to worry about âthe fluâ. People today are working to flatten the curve, thus leaving more hospital beds open for intense treatment of those people seriously affected by it, vastly increasing their chances of survival vs dying at home. Youâre simply not seeing or accounting for all the work going into keeping the impact of covid to a minimum, and instead youâre doing the opposite by indicating itâs no big deal.
You know who else talks like that? People who complain about polio vaccines because âthey ainât seen anyone with polio so why bother?â ⊠itâs ignorant and dangerous to spread this kind of thinking.
I donât work in a University, I work for one of the larger hospital chains in the US. Covid is very much a problem for hospital capacity, and anything that can be done to lighten that load is a good thing. If you are unvaccinated in the US I can make a good guess as to your political views, and while you seem upset about this mandate, you donât seem to have been particularly unhappy about any of the previous mandates, so donât claim that it is all about âCivil Libertiesâ. If it was you would be campaigning to change a whole bunch of current laws and procedures.
As for the 6 months, there are a lot of components to a vaccine, and in this case a lot of them donât need to be tested. Pfizer and Moderna are both MRNA vaccines which have been researched since the 1970s. The only reason we donât have lots of MRNA vaccines is that the earlier ones were developed for Ebola which isnât an issue in the US so itâs been flying under the radar.
The only thing to test was the protein spike fragment, both for vaccine efficacy and detrimental side effects.
There are actually protocols in place for ending double blind trials early if the results are exceptional. In the case of Covid the results were good, the threat is significant, and the trial numbers were high.
exactly. the government regulates and legislates what we can and canât do with our bodies all the time already. drug laws, abortion laws, helmet/seatbelt laws, lack of voluntary euthanasia, etc⊠no ones crying about mandates to show your âage passportâ to buy alcohol or mandates to show your meningitis vaccination to go to school for an education.
Making it explicitly about Vaccine Mandates⊠There are vaccine mandates for all immigrants. I havenât heard any of the anti Covid vaccine people complaining about those. Those mandates donât require a single vaccine either they require several different vaccines.
Nah. Unfortunately thereâs no pronoun identifiers on the forum, but mrln is a they.
But in English the use of He/Him is technically correct when pronouns arenât known. Having said that⊠Let us all salute @mrln for all that they do.
I might just have adapted it through this forum, but when Iâm not sure of the correct gender, I tend to use âthey / themâ anyways - but I have honestly no clue if that is considered okay or not (mind to tell me if it is, Satur9 or Mrln?). But when Iâm surrounded by tons of nicknames that give me no clue of the gender (are you Mr. or Mrs. Zwack?^^) I feel I step on the least toes that way^^ It feels kinda âneutralâ. Itâs sad that there is no German way to do this - we have er / sie / es (like, he / she / it), but our âtheyâ is translated to âsieâ⊠itâs the plural version of it, but you couldnât tell. Complicated stuff^^
They or username are the way to go in general.
Well just because it was correct doesnât mean it still is. Language is a constantly changing construct
Yeah, totally. Most people seem to think thatâs the smart way to go about it. I donât think anyone who isnât just looking for trouble would be upset if they were misidentified as a âtheyâ
I wonder if there is a way in discourse to add some pronouns to this drop down field for those who would want to display pronouns next to their name⊠@Pilgrimsmaster
could look something like thisâŠ
since the derail happend already:
I wrote it in my profile but displaying it would be amazing!
sorry for the wrong reply @Devilclarke
