Iām of the opinion that words only have power when combined with context.
Thereās a twitch streamer Iāve watched that has said the n word on stream a few times and people have called to ban her because of the history the word has, sheās so far had a lot of support. The kicker, she has tourettes syndrome and itās a tick she canāt control. She isnāt meaning to offend or be edgy, itās just the word that came out.
I donāt think Rosco was using it in a context of trying to offend anyone so Iām inclined to see it as non offensive, but thereās also the context of the groups diverse experience and backgrounds.
If context doesnāt matter, letās all ban the dictionary and internet because they contain a lot of bad words.

I can fairly understand both sides here, though I still think it depends more on the context than on the word itself. Like Pilgrimās ācuntā (btw, Iām happy there is no swear-filter on this forum

Like I said, at least in Germany, the term isnāt as derogative, itās used by sex workers and others even for public events.
But what I donāt get - Rosco used it as an insult vs. Alexa, in a way, so why is using a derogative term as an insult so wrong? I mean, itās kinda the point of it
Thatās why itās stupid to call something bad āgayā, for gay is nothing negative, but why itās okay to use the - pretty derogative term - asshole to describe an asshole
