Well shit. I used MCT and cloned my xMagic, went to try it and found out the reader won’t work with an xseries. Used the HF LED keychain and nothing, diag card lights up no problem. Forgot about my flexMT, loaded up the dump file, tried to read the flex, but nothing! Used PM3, nothing! Oh well. Guess I’ll have to save up for another flex and a trip back to Texas to see Pineapple again.

MCT will only write to Gen2, not a gen1a like is in the xMagic and FlexMT

It will look like it was successful, but it won’t work.

What commands did you try on the PM3?

I dont have access to my pm3 at the moment, but a point in the right direction.

Try looking in these commands

hf 14a reader or similar

then to write

'hf mf cload -f hf-mf-(date and time stamp??? or NUID???-dump.eml)`

I dont use gen1a with proxmark.

I use MCT with my gen2 and my Flipper with my gen1a

Try those out, and ill do my best to help until i get to my PM3

In my experience, they are a good indicator, but not guaranteed every time to be correct, so there is still hope

I fucked up…

My stress this week has been battling my companies HR dept. Its 100% my fault though. I neglected to sign in during my parental leave to add my newborn to my insurance and i missed our companies 30day enrollment period. for some reason i thought i had 60 days… so now it looks like i have to buy insurance on the marketplace.

That’s fucked. When my first was born I rang the insurer to make sure she would go onto our policy and was told it’s automatic and no worries. So we had all the tests and check ups for her before we brought her home, thinking it was all covered, only to be told that because she was born in hospital, and she was not admitted as a patient, so they were not covering anything under the private insurance.

All insurance companies are bastards!

Kinda reminds me of Adam Savages ruler tattoo he has on his forearm.

for a while now I’ve wanted a ruler tattoo on the forearm, similar to the one Adam Savage has but simpler and more modern. Then I realized I have quite visible implants and know their sizes.
My doNext is 42mm in diameter so with the added skin it’s quite close to 5cm. My xG3s are 15mm which again with the added skin is close to 2cm.
Both 2 and 5 cm are very convenient subdivisions when vaguely guessing the length of something. They’re not precise but they are more than enough for most cases. And now I use them regularly.
Have you used yours to quickly measure stuff?

Once you know:-
Width of hand, with/without thumb
Splayed Thumb to pinky
Thumb to pointer
A finger
A thumb

It’s a pretty “handy” tool

Succesfully cloned the xMagic, but still no luck getting the reader to couple with it. Maybe a flexy would work. Thanks for the help!
No luck with the proxmark on the flexMT, both sides are dead
