Or maybe they called the fire department on themselves so they would get news coverage because people are like that.

I had that thought too. Maybe the FD came for a neighbors medical issue as well.
I hate the short vids, but not willing to watch the long vid of that one if it’s out there lol
I do like the idea though. I love pranks, just ask my annoyed coworkers and bosses.

Instead of a Pi, I used the Arduino Leonardo Pro Micro, basically a small Arduino Leonardo with micro USB port.

ODaily Find of the Week

Left, Variable AC transformer. 0-140v @10a

Right, ā€œThe Meggerā€ hand cranked generator for testing insulation. Throws 1000v dc.

Not Pictured, Nice looking neon sign transformer with a well built set of Jacob’s Ladder electrodes.

Sometimes nerds have garage sales too, and that’s awesome to find.

Those variables transfer are awesome!
I have one and cherish it greatly

How hight is that Megger going? And how hard is it to crank? How do you know the break down voltage?
They are awesome tools highly under rated …

I had one as a kid but it was so heavy… it didn’t last the many many moves since the 1990s :frowning:

To infinity, and beyond!!! Seriously, it says āˆž
Fairly easy to crank.
The breakdown voltage is indicated by release of ā€œMagic Smokeā€. Or… You could check the ohms on the gauge that I just found under the really cool flip up lid.

It’s currently reading high because I cranked it with nothing attached. It is slowly bleeding down. I have the feeling that someday I’m going to go cranking on it, and catch a direct lightning bolt.

I love the flip up cover, so neat.
Looks like 1KV, thanks s enough for most transformer insulation testing :+1:

I didn’t know that those could be used for password recovery!

What about cyborg fast charger?

Keep in mind 500v is a bit light for most applications, 1KV will get you by in most household winding and 5KV will get you covered for just about everything else

Unfortunately, Myth Busted.

You just can’t keep cranking through the spasms. In fact, I may have forgotten a few passwords. And possibly my middle name. :zap:

I see you are in Arkansas, @ODaily MIGHT have a starting point for you locally

If not, and if you are able to travel…prefixed with I have never met the dude, but I have heard nothing but 100% rave reviews of Pineapple :pineapple:

He has a studio in Both Austin and Dallas .

Shaman Modifications Body Piercing Studio

1901 E 7th St, Austin, TX 78702, United States +1 512-981-6637

502 S Fitzhugh Ave Dallas, TX 75223 (214) 235-9473

I think he is out of action at the moment for surgery, BUT if you can wait, I would suggest that he is worth waiting for

I really appreciate that! There is a piercer that works at a tattoo shop in Fort Smith that has a few implants (in his head and hands), and I was thinking of asking him where he got them done and go from there. I don’t mind driving to Dallas to get it done though, if need be.

Unfortuneatly, no.
I couldn’t find anyone in Arkansas who would even entertain the idea. So, I traveled to see Pineapple and he’s 1000% worth it. Hope he gets better soon.

If you don’t mind, let us know how that turns out. Would love to find more willing and able piercers.
