Just looked on impulse, and there’s a used “RFID Toys” book on amazon for 1.75, plus 3.99 shipping.
There was a new copy, which is weird for such an old book on a niche subject. Maybe it’s just in really good shape. We’ll find out when it gets here.

Hi, thank you! I sadly don’t have any yet, but I’m slowly working on getting some in the near future, looking at a NExT initially to start at least. As for advice, I don’t have the need for anything specific at the moment, I had a few questions that were answered on Discord, and with some pre-account lurking here. I’ll definitely send any questions I have here as needed. Thank you again for the warm welcome.

If you don’t have a specific use yet, a NExT is a great first implant option, as is the xMagic
Quick compare
NExT is good for its NDEF capability.
xMagic is good for its compatibility with many locks and access systems.
Placement is always important, but generally with either of those 2, I would personally reccomend the P0 location, although there are other viable locations.
Before you pull the trigger on one / other / both , do sing out with any questions…

I will just need to do a quick test to make sure it doesnt break any links if I change the names, as they have both the thread number AND name in them

Well, I decided I’ll probably go with the xMagic, and I’m throwing a PM3 into the order too for good measure. Oddly enough I was leaning towards P0 anyway haha, seemed like a good spot. Planning to get it put in my left hand, my only faint concern is if that position would be an issue for writing(left-handed) but thinking about it while writing this, I haven’t seen anyone complain about it so I take it that’s a non-issue (or at least minimal). As for the installation itself, I’ll figure that out. If I can’t get a more local shop on board, a 4.5h road trip to a partner installer wouldn’t be unreasonable, so there’s also that.
