Ok, I finished a bunch of stuff and gave the dog ball thrower posts another read. The negative of the capacitor is mostly likely going to be connected to the large copper pour on the board. That’s going to be your ground plane.

So this should be the polarity for the capacitor:

Upon second inspection and knowing that this uses a power adapter, those are likely flyback diodes for the motors and solenoids.

And sorry that I missed this earlier, I was a bit busy but my DT forum addiction got the best of me.

I appreciate any help I get

I’ll give it a shot in an hour or 3,
Worst case 50/50 shot I do it right and don’t dyslexic it up

Figure another 50/50 it turns on after that, but nothing ventured nothing gained I guess

Wooohooo!! Super happy for you.

Super pissed off for me: despite having been on here every day the algorithm shows that I missed a day a couple of days ago which I know is not true. I even posted on the day it claims I missed.
I know it’s totally unimportant in the scheme of things and certainly has no relevance to the topics discussed here but I was using it as an inner proof of my ability to be constant over time - something I struggle with normally.

Can you see a daily breakdown like that?

The algorithm has been know to be a little slow to catch up…Maybe there’s still some hope?

Fsck sinusitis! This is one of the reasons why I’d sign up for a full robot conversion if it was available.

Besides, I’d look awesome!

Something I realized was that the counter must run on its own clock or something. I ended up having to check the forum at least twice a day. Usually first thing when I woke up and right before I went to bed at the very least, just to make sure I was in the time window it counts as a ā€œday.ā€

The counter does appear to be on its own timezone.

It was Wednesday wasn’t it?

The forum update has you. :slightly_frowning_face:

No, but when I go onto the forum I usually look at the posts first then check on the stats on my way out. Sometimes the weekly stat freaks me out by dropping to 6 days if it hasn’t updated yet but then the next day it catches up. This time it’s gone past 24 hours and it still shows 6 days.

Yup, that’s what I do so I can’t figure out how it’s missed one.

Actually, that would make sense: I could have visited earlier than the first check, bang in the middle of the update and just after the last check.

That would be rather annoying (translation for non-British speakers: That would really fuck me off big time). Resetting my year for the stupid cheers feature!
I will find out someday next week when the weekly count flips to 7.

One last thing (and then I’ll move on because I realise this topic is only important to the person it’s happening too - a bit like telling someone about the weird dream you had, or the intricacies of a long harrowing call with a customer service person) I am still posting as ā€œLabRat Regularā€. I thought Regular only applied to those with 90 consecutive days which I no longer have.

I suspect that the cheers thing came with an update that potentially patched vulnerabilities and fixed bugs. But losing one day because of it must be infuriating!

I’m not sure if the regular status requires 90 consecutive days, I think that it’s just being extremely active but I could be wrong and defer to the forum AI for clarification.

@LabRat
I have some answers for you

We have had this discussion a few times, and indeed the counter is weird.
A person will show they have missed a day, when they haven’t.
They freak out but then the ship rights itself.

You can see here, that a couple of guys have missed a couple of days within the year, except myself with 366 days (probably a time zone thing) and enginerd is all good, Az MAY be alright, but could have missed a day or 2.
The best I can do (and you guys also) is check the quarter and see there are no missing days, then watch the year counter total, and when your 362 days becomes 363, then 364, you are back on track.

Why 362 you ask?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like you may have missed (or discourse has missed) a couple of visits
Mine vs yours

I cant be certain, but I dont think this is the case, at least not soley

Nah, I think we are all invested, and bummed for you.

Discourse can be a temperamental bitch sometimes.

Your quarter is perfect, so now just keep an eye on your year, but remembering, it may fuck with you on occasion, but it should only be out by a day, or maybe 2.

And heres where you are at on the DT Forum

YOU ARE SMOKING THOSE REQUIREMENTS, AND EASILY DESERVING OF REGULAR STATUS

Also, if you like stats.
Heres arguably the most important one
Your Cheers counter

I mean, I have the achievement already:

That doesn’t change the fact that I’m fully addicted to this forum.

I’m sure everyone who’s aiming for that badge would be equally upset/confused at the system dropping days, certainly they have been in the past.

I know I’d be complaining if the system made me restart on the ever elusive 5-year ā€œCrazed Fanaticā€ badge

Maybe I’m lost, how do I track how many consecutive consecutive days I have.

It’s in the forum’s menu

Pilgrim posted pics a while ago:

You’re at 357 this year

Well, that’s total days, not consecutive days

That one is awarded once your brain fully integrates into Amal’s dial system and it’s not defined by time spent on the forum. Although at that point, you’ll practically live here…
