a flipper with a good BadUSB payload may be beneficial here
I aināt telling IT I have or carry that shit in the workplace
Also sounds like a them problem
Iād rather have:
- Plant Based Photosynthesis Powers
- Bio-Compatible Solar Panels
I'm pretty sure the outcome is easy to guess here, but you never know
Solar panel skin or leafy skin, which would you rather have power you?
Plant based, so I donāt have to worry about food and can work on bio solar power
I like the idea of solar, because you could output
Iām going with artificial parts, thank you. (But you all knew that already)
I actually explored this for a time. The reality is that your skin surface area is not enough to support much in the way of ATP production in the positive above and beyond supporting the skin itself. Placing chloroplasts into individual skin cells is a way to test this theory without DNA manipulation, and I think that could work as a proof of concept in vitro.
I sort of figured the surface area would be a problem, which is how I ended up with
I was picturing on the extreme end some kind of leafy sasquatch-like creature, though I donāt know how much the added surface would help
I havenāt the foggiest idea what the power scales are between a human being and say a large tree, but Iād imagine locomotion and all the extra junk we do probably produces a pretty serious power drain
Even if I couldnāt be fully powered by leafy or panel-y additions, Iād still like any appreciable external power that could extend the time between such things as sleeping and eating
Decades ago back when I was a youngster, I remember I saw somebody with a baseball hat on. Said something like āThis isnāt covering up a bald spot, itās just regulating the solar powered sex machineā
I bought some stuff on the LTT Lime Day sale and casually asked in the WAN merch message if Linus or Luke would want chips. They seemed excited and said they planned to visit @amal, but then COVID happened. It looks like maybe they still want to do it.
I pestered them a long time ago, got some interest and then a lot of us tried to post on their forum and it was a utter shit showā¦ and that left a very bad taste in my mouth
Yeah, I remember that. Letās not do that againā¦

Thatās me right now lol
Not DT, but some HA projects!
Already have some cases printed out ready and waiting! lol
Nice!
One of the many regrets I had when I broke up with my Ex last year, I had half the house (half the lights and switches, multiple temp/humidity sensors, thermostat, garage door, washer/dryer/sump pump etc) all wired up into HA. Not enough time to re-wire everything back to normal when I left.
Lots of fun projects and things to do.
Oh dang, that sucks!
Iām just in a small 1 bed apartment, but Iāve got over 20 animal enclosures of various sizes to monitor. Plus I want to try automating the misting of various enclosures with HA, and maybe some auto feeding for one enclosure.
If it works out for the monitoring, I might end up doing the same the pet store I frequent.
Yeah, they can be nice for critter monitoring, once you get one setup and programmed you should be able to replicate it on a larger scale.
Right now, Iāve got all of 1 smart plug running a lamp. Got a couple half-finished projects, going to tie into the garage door opener here and also a lock for my mini fridge.
Company paid housing, so I canāt go too crazy.
Nice!
I want to get some smart plugs set up too.
Thereās a chance I might move into a fixer upper within a year. If I did, I might not see the light of day for a few months working on a bunch of HA projects XD
Stargazer was right, it can easily become an addiction! haha
Yup, huge addiction. Especially when you add in some help from your phone with Tasker or the like. Come home, once your phone connects to home wifi (or can use GPS, but that was usually slower for me), garage door opensā¦ Those cheap little bluetooth temp/humidity sensors sprinkled all around the house. Could check to see what cycle the washing machine was on by the amount of power it was using and get a text when it finished (all on a cheap non-smart unit) etc etc
That would be amazing!
