NGL, I have been feeling stupid and exausted lately… I need an xBattery implant… And maybe an xIQ? Or is that one an RF modulator?

I have the tools to do that if you want more, also made patches with embedded tags

any examples you can share photos of?

this was the first prototype of the embedded tags (on a failed laser engraving). Amal got the DT and Vivokey tags i made.
@amal , if you want me o pull the video, i will :+1:

Note: I will not do company logo / mech for people (ex: DT logo will go to DT only).
I only do my personal design, or you send me your design and it only go to you (assuming you own the image)

How well do repeaters work encased in the leather?

those are NTAG215, i didnt though about putting a repeater in there
the hard PCB might be a bit sturdier than the flex sticker.

those are vegan leather patches  (some version of PVC) so it should be fine for RF

Want me to send you a few fr4 repeaters to test range with?

Is real leather harder to work with, or is there another reason to use the plastic version?

I tend to prefer real leather as it lasts forever and it feels and smells nicer than the vegan alternatives.

IIRC, it’s fabric and foam backed vinyl. Although polyurethane versions exist.

not harder, laser will cut either (smells better to work with :yum:)
real leather more expensive, and the velcro backing doenst stick quite as well … if you are planning on sawing it, leather is definitely the way to go :+1:
Iron on, is a tossup, the leather may not bond quite well if the glue is too thin or heated quite right.

Ive done book covers out of heavy hide with great results

General advice is to never put Vinyl/PVC in a laser cutter, as it releases chlorine gas. Just so you know :v:

I do :+1:
When I run any kind of plastic I open the garage and put a fan blowing outward (the laser is right behind the door). Also control it remotely so I don’t have to stand there
And for the corrosion to the aluminum frame, I see it as wear and tear …

You could make hammy some Midwest Gadget logo patches as a trade…Just saying

My instinct says do it, now. My brain says there’s absolutely no use case for that. But you’re not the first person to mention that

Honestly what I was thinking. Seems like it wouldn’t be hard at all to do in something like Zinc, but also at that point you could look at the time or notifications on the phone you’re holding. Unless there was some kind of arm-mounted peripheral that interfaced with the the app?

Could also make an interesting part of a game, maybe something with blinking morse code or simon?
