Never hope to not be able to drink beer, unless you replace it with wine (and yes I had to use translate to understand this comment!)
Well, Iām hoping to be able to go full robot one dayā¦ And donāt really enjoy drinking so Iām perfectly fine with not having a digestive tract.
Now being a meatbag and unable to eat or drink certain things would suckā¦
I am with you but am so keeping my taste budsā¦ Wine, steaks; cooking is my passion. It is almost as good as implants.
Then move to France.
I dislike cooking, itās a chore to meā¦ Not having to cook or do laundry would be awesome.
That
Excellent advice, Gents. I will try to follow it and invite you both to lunch in a few years when I get there! I will cook.

I find that the thing that gets you in trouble most of the time is not you knowing enough to solve your own problems and solving them, but then trying to solve the problem for others or basically ensure others donāt fall prey to the same problem. The issue isnāt because youāre trying to help other potential victims, but in trying to help, you are making those whoās job it is to manage or service the thing which is broken feel threatened.
Trueā¦ In this case I had complained about problems with the door of that elevator for several months as it often jammed when closing.
I think that mentioning that the alarm/intercom thing wasnāt monitored when the incident happened or that the security guards ignored it thinking that it was a false alarm was particularly damming for those in charge.

Hmmā¦ maybe I am also harboring some past frustrations from similar treatment
Well, it seems common in this community. Cyborgs arenāt mediocre conformists from what I can tell:

Great minds often encounter violent opposition from mediocre souls

If you really wanna crank 'em up, express your condolences on their short comings in a professional manner
I grew up in a cult and I struggle to talk back to people like that. Although mocking them in a humorous manner sounds even better.

some crazy vibes
As in you feel them with your magnets?
Locking blades are not allowed in Europe.
Thatās dumbā¦ Locking blades should be significantly safer.
Unless your hands look like my avatar, in that case they just help avoid scratches.
I have a Victorinox Midnite Manager but itās missing the belt clip, just like most of the brand.
Gerber Epic
Thatās nice. I wish we could carry this sort of thing here but itās not with the hassle. It would come in so handy.
The offence for carrying a knife requires you to prove reasonable excuse where I live.
Plus they have now introduced āwandingā (hand held metal detector search) at shopping centres, event venues, public transport and a tonne of other places. No warrants required, it can be approved by a Sergeant of Police and everyone subjected to it.
Welcome to Australia where only the crims have guns, knives and rights.

Same for me:
Every person is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or a fine not exceeding $2,000 who, in any public place, without reasonable excuse, ā¦
I have carried a knife since I recived my first at 5 years oldā¦
Iād claim it as a part of myself and my religion or some shit.
My knife can identify a sikh kirpan or scottish skene-dhu
A knife is a tool, its the intent that makes it a weaponā¦

Oh, FFS!
Same for me
Have you two considered stabbing, or better yet, shooting your politicians? Thatās fusking ridiculous!
I donāt think Iād be able to tolerate the wanding treatment for long before deciding to move to another country and I donāt carry a knife very often.

recived my first at 5 years oldā¦
Lol. Me too. My dad got me one at the old āAmbulance Standā. They used to sell stuff to fund their services as the Govt didnāt fund them back then.
Yeah, I agree itās a utility. I am confident of defending myself if charged but it is a real hassle if I was charged (and I am former police, so know they will simply charge and let the court sort it).
I need to have an authority to work in my profession and any charges trigger a reporting requirement which in turn can lead to suspension pending trial. So t is simply not worth the risk to me.
I donāt really have an issue with the gun laws here. I think they need to be loosened a bit so the average punter can do some hunting etc but we are used to them now as a country.
The knife stuff arose because of juvenile crime. They are out of control at the moment. I wish though, the law allowed people over 21 or so to carry a knife for utility purposes which would still address the juvenile issue.
Truth is bikies etc make their own guns now and only the crims carry. Our police shootings have also gone through the roof. Normally we would have one every few years. Now it is 4 or 5 a year. I know this is nothing for the US, but here itās really over the top (I should add the shootings have all been completely justified and lawful. Nothing like the issues in US).
And donāt get me started on the great policy which puts the seriously mentally ill back I to the community with pretty much no supportā¦ But hey, we spend a fortune on 'welcome to countryās ceremonies, so I suppose itās all good.

Just like Colombia with itās gun controlā¦ But the Colombian police is easy to bribe so they donāt often get shot, they make some extra money insteadā¦

donāt get me started on the great policy
I voted with my feet on a significant amount of āgreat policiesā.
Re the police, we donāt really have that problem and havenāt for over 30 years. However the current crop are very much touchy feely and I would not bother calling them if one of my family were hurt.
Re voting with your feet, I agree. Unfortunately I have kids and a life style (read great wine and food) which I simply donāt want to leave.
I expect to move to Europe though when I retire and the kids are finished uni. Not sure where yet but I speak German and am slowly learning French so will likely be around thereā¦ Plus I love Italy but not sure if that is just me being a tourist. Living there could be different.
This some kind of brand name clothing store?
Yup. Shoes or something, wasnāt paying attention, I was too obsessed with the good vibes. Pun intended
