You’ve probably already tried, but… Couldn’t you rule allergies in / out by taking a big 'ol dose of benadryl? If it responds, then most likely an allergy. If not, back to square one?

I’m so not a doctor. In fact my doctor loves me for openly believing that and doing as instructed. I suggest the same, always.

Infections should also respond to antihistamines but doing this could make things worse.

Was in ER earlier today because of some of the pain and relentless itch…

They basically did big dose of Benadryl and steroids and something else via IV… worked pretty good for about 1 hour and then back to itching and swelling

Prescribed a bunch of steroids and Benadryl and I think pepcid which is also a thing for this

Currently no ideas what’s causing it…
I was just making sure I’m not overlooking implants as a cause… but they aren’t painful or swollen in any way… they are just along for the ride as I take a rasp file to
My skin

Super random question: have you been in close contact with mushroom spores? Asking because I have known more than a few people that have developed totally random allergies after growing edible mushrooms in tight spaces indoors.

Edit: emphasis placed on ā€˜edible’ because I expect snickering.

Did you buy or use a new laundry detergent or shampoo or body wash?

Have you gotten a new tattoo or dyed your hair recently?

In one continuous transition from one to the next since December

Some kind of flu from nephew patient 0
Vasectomy recovery
Bronchitis (that grew from lingering cough from flu above)
Other flu from spouse who go it somewhere
Now rash / hives / angioedema of hands

It’s been a long 2 months of being sick or recovering with no breaks… I’m sure my immune system wants to have a word

Feels like a post viral reaction, make sense for that, but ER doc is saying it looks more like an allergic reaction than that

To be clear, I’m not accusing DT products… or anything like that… I’m more just trying to understand what signs I should look for that it might be implant related… and do I mention or not to a possible immunologist in the future? I’m kinda cynical of most medical professionals outlook on the subject of grinding and don’t want to let them use my implants as a scape goat… but it also might be worth mentioning to rule out also?

My basic understanding / grasp , I feel like the site of a foreign object in my body, that it wants to react to like this, or is some kind of infection, would show some kind of localized sign… and I’m not really seeing that

My right hand is the one that started swelling first, about 4 days ago… and it is stock

My left hand with subdermal fun, only just started being a pain yesterday

On main body, I get areas of hives that seem to flair up quite rapidly if I do any scratching… but I’m not sure if the initial scratches are because it was starting to flair up or the cause :man_shrugging:t2:… shits weird

To those suggesting lotion soap etc…don’t really use lotion… no new soap,
literally nothing new… it’s been 2 months of eat sleep work repeat

Only worked 2 days in the last 5 days I’ve been having the reaction…. Nothing new at work… don’t really use much exciting at work since I just quality check product at the end… acetone, via a pump top bottom and qtips… never gets on my skin… an acid, but I don’t think I use more than a single drop every 2-3 weeks

Also if any of the flair ups have only ever happened 4-5 hours after I GET home… so that would be 10-15 hours after any exposure, which seem kinda too delayed

bad dum diss

Sorta? Googles sort of auto overview thing is ….fine
But with everything medical it’s sort of intentionally vague to cover outliers and everyone wants to be better safe than sorry… but it winds up just making everything murky

It’s currently 5:56 am for me… I’ve yet to go to bed

I typically fall asleep around 7-9am EST and wake up around 2ish?

I always quote to coworkers the bane line from Batman

I work nights because I’m nocturnal, you are nocturnal because you work nights… we are not the same

If I went feral without needing to schedule around work:… I naturally end up around 11am bed time

I do have have DSPS a circadian rhythm disorder, been like this since probably elementary school

The number of times I tell people I can’t do xyz in the morning because I’m nocturnal because I have a thing… I can’t just go to be ā€œearlyā€ doesn’t work like that
And they say shit like
ā€œWe’ll have you just tried… laying down… not moving… and closing your eyes?ā€

Did you just propose to solve my sleep disorder… by… trying to go to sleep?

Gee why didn’t I think of that?!

Maybe something changed at home? Mold, maybe? Clean or replace the filter on your furnace. Or perhaps get it serviced as this includes a proper cleaning of the AC coil.

Or did you get your HVAC serviced and your reacting to the coil cleaner?

Check stuff like beds, bathrooms, and other places where bugs and mold might develop.

You could’ve asked for a full list of symptoms to sound a little more human. But TBH, it’s probably better not to be human.

It’s even worse when they are the type of people who follow that Canadian self help nutjob… ā€œGet disciplined, you lazy sloth. And sacrifice as much as possibleā€ is not helpful at all. I tend to call those idiots ā€œBenitoā€ but being the only one who knows history makes this pointless.
