What model(s)? if the CPUs canāt do paravirtualization then donāt bother⦠not worth the power they suck down.
This ^
We have a few at work, and just sold a dozen more a while ago.
Its a fairly large lot, ive been wanting to make a home lab to test (ie break) and learn. Just setup an old inspiron NAS and thought i would step it up
here is the list:
Dell PoweEdge R910
Dell PoweEdge 2850
Dell PoweEdge R430
Dell PoweEdge 2650
Dell PoweEdge R710
Dell PoweEdge 1950
2 each of these:
Dell PoweEdge R610
Dell PoweEdge R710
Oh, nice. Grab the R430 and not the rest lol
Orā¦
Grab them all, keep the r430 and sell the rest on craigslist for what you paid.
Free server!
Theyāre a package deal sold As-is (government surplus)
There is a bit longer than I thought on the auction, but now I know itās worth picking up Iāll try to grab them if they donāt go for too high
Youāre going to have a hard time getting rid of everything except the r430, no one will take a power edge xxxx, even for free. The Rx10s might be easier but theyāre pretty old at this point
R710s are probably worth a whole $19.99 in parts assuming they have their drives and memory stripped. The 910 might be worth something, but everything there loves to absolutely guzzle power and convert it into noise.
How else do you expect to be a mobile robot.
Haha, I was the kid that licked 9volt batteries to see how much charge they had left
I still do that. And with cr2032ās
wonders if thereās a āBattery_Lickerā forum tag
I mean⦠Are we not licking 9v anymore? I didnāt get that memo.
Tasty!
They have started putting denatonium on coin cells to keep children from swallowing them. I just thought you might like to know.
i was wondering why it looked like i blew (blue) papa smurfā¦
So thatās why they are all bitter nowā¦
Joking aside, I donāt lick batteries.
Who licks batteries? Thats super weird!
I prefer to touch the battery to my tongue,
Iām not a savageā¦
I have actually ālickedā four 9V batteries in the last 2 days
That said, if somebody is just getting started / exploring, they could be a decent learner. Note, Iāve no idea how to set one up, but would love to anyway. Iāve just never been able to score one that I could afford to acquire.
If the dregs of that auction popped up on my local craigslist, Iād probably be down for one at a reasonable price. Use it for a bit, then see if I want to upgrade later. All good fun.
