That’s what I’m looking at them for. If it doesn’t climb too much I might try to snatch them.

Most of those auctions skyrocket in the final hours, but I’ve also seen some smokin’ deals too.

They also made some packaging standard that makes them a pain in the ass to open

It’s even more of a pain when you use 4-500 2032s a week

I designed a 3d printed tool for my company to use
It was a great and simple design, they of course modified it to make it worse and claimed it was for safety… while in writing directing users to push and twist the blades directing towards their other hand

I’m not asking for a mouth… I’d rather go for another implementation.

Agreed!

Never mind…

I know! Aaaaaaaaa! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

In a military budget scale of things, those robo-dogs are seriously cheap. Kinda suprised their not just strapping anti tank and anti personnel mines to them and sending them on a one way run.

I guess the main hurdle is battery life…

If it’s only got a couple hours of run time, that limits practically in the field

Head of places using them to replace routine foot patrols, that wouldn’t be a run time issue… mains power available and they can auto charge on a cycle

they have been doing it for years for underwater mines, send a small sub with a charge to trigger the mines. Ive seen it done with old WW2 ordonnances.

There are liquid fueled robots running on gasoline, ethanol, and other flex fuels.

this peaks my interest. I want a robot dog that runs on biodiesel. Something is just makes me fuzzy inside thinking of a angry robot dog chugging away on vegetable oil.

So you want a robot that feeds off biological material… hmm…

robot dog… specifically. The source of the biofuel is irrelevant to me.

Have you all seen the new (very very small) microcontroller from TI? It’s miniscule. They’re selling a dev kit for $5 right now.

Anybody else immediately think, ā€œHey, that’d fit in a glassie?ā€ followed by, ā€œI wonder if it’d run off those atomic batteries?ā€

(I’m sure it won’t, (atomic batteries, that is) :slightly_smiling_face:)

They keep shit tighter than they used too … I had to call them and authenticate just to place an order
But its all worth it, TI’s dev board are the best ive used … and their software package is pretty decent too, not quite as packed as MC’s, but a bit simpler to use
