Since it seems to come up frequently, I’m going to make you KEEBIES your own space to stroke your tactiles to your hearts content.
:keyboard:

And then I’ll find most of the chatter and send it over there chronologically…

I’m checking into the MGM Grand in National Harbor, MD on Monday for a conference, and they asked if I want my room key on my phone or on a physical card. Do you think that means I could use one of my xSIIDs???
Any danger of it being written to or locked if I do?

Most hotel chains offer that nowadays.
Note that the cards are usually MF1K but the communication between the phone and reader is some wired proprietary stuff. I tried to sniff it with a proxmak before and couldn’t figure it out.
Note that I’m a noob at sniffing, but it looked totally different than sniffing between the card and reader so I stepped away and got a UG4 for hotels

Ultralight is also quite common for hotels.

This would cover both options *

This can be done with a PROXMARK3 also.
BUT

There is a possibility (depends on tge compatibility, software, reader coupling, tge hotels willingness to enroll etc) , however, with the unknowns, I would suggest you get a card in the first instance, THEN use your phone to determine the chip type, using TagInfo.
We can give you further / better advice from there.

If you can take a test card pack and PM3 / Flipper you can have a bit of a play and figure it out for next time.

I have not seen many Ultralight in the US … They pop up occasionally in Canada, but the US tend to be MK1K with 4byte UID (and magstripe  … @amal , where is the magstripe implant?). The US is beyond the time, including technologically (and socially …)

No idea but curious to find out. Please let us know.
We can try things out next week and see if we can replicate the results :+1:

Marriott properties have been using Ultralight since 2022 in the venues I’ve been

Wired, the Marriot cards I have are MF Classic 1K. Hilton is pretty much exclusively MF Classic 1K.

Ive gotten a T5577 and a Desfire EV1 at 2 hotel form the same chain in Canada

Mine are from usually large properties in metropolitan areas so I wonder if they vary by property.

Ive been seeing some 10" rack on the YT that seam like a fun homme/training build.

Low of great 3d printed parts for the 10" racks

Keep an eye on it anyways. It kinda helps develop a sense of market value if you watch a few go down, even if it sucks to watch it sail away to someone else’s paradise.

Roughly speaking, what region of the world are you in? Nerds run in herds, maybe someone else can clue you into a good deal locally.

Speaking of which… GovDeals (usa) server auctions.

I’ve wondered for a bit now if there’s a database of who uses what. Might be useful if not!
