Does that say ādonāt fallā ? Hahah
You might hurt your tront!
Hows this going Az?
Are you all settled back in France?
Once my desktop is back up and running Iāll consider making the model myself⦠Or pay someone for it but I havenāt found a community member who can do it yet
In the process of doing that yes

I did try AI and got some reasonable results, but not a 3d model.
And the resolution wasnāt enough to zoom in.
So close, but still a fail.
I did about 6 versions that were promising, but, just not quite there.
Hopefully there are some AI experts here that can help.
I guess another approach could be an āoverviewā like above, and then body parts, head, torso, Arm Left, Arm Right, Leg leftā¦
so then you select the arm, and zoom in on the Arm, or hand etcā¦
And here I am using Blender like an old man
Iām still on the fence about AI (not you Pilgrim). On one hand I donāt want to use it, I think it takes all the fun out of making things yourself and makes you and makes you lazy (not to mention all the bs that comes out of it). But on the other hand I feel like Iām obligated to get into it in order to keep the pace with everyone else
Are you asking for an upgrade?
Everyone wants to be smarter and yet society rejects every single freak of nature whoās way above average⦠Humans, amirite?
I use it a lot for creative inspiration. Like Iāll ask it questions like, Iām trying to do this, what are various ways to do it.
Or, give me examples of this picture in this style with these characteristics.
I used it a lot when I was trying to do the RFID access control stuff. Which I need to cycle back to and see if @Jammyjellyfish made any progress
I consider it a tool, not a solution.
Itāll get you 75% there in a short period of time.
Kinda like a fluffer in porn
The interesting thing about this tool is that, it kind of feels like it started out as a tiny little two blade Swiss Army knife with hyper targeted machine learning systems designed to do one thing⦠play chess⦠do facial recognition etc. and now I feel like I have a real multi-tool device that keeps getting new blades and tools every time I look at it.
Thatās kinda the part that I donāt love. Like what happens to learning, researching and thinking about stuff? I know it doesnāt do the entire job for you but arenāt you worried youāll lose the ability to think for yourself and do stuff without being assisted?
Itās like exoskeletons, theyāre fuckin awesome and they are only there to make you stronger but there will be a point where youāll become dependent and wonāt be able to walk on your own.
At least thatās what I fear for myself. If you give me a tool that makes my life easier I will use it until I canāt live without it⦠Itās fine when the skill in question is washing the dishes, but thinking?
I feel the opposite. I feel it gives me a better approach rather than thinking my approach is not only the best but only other option.
I would never let it give me any instruction that I wouldnāt verify anyways because itās been known AI likes to just make things up sometimes
Also Iāve been using notebbokLM as a way to proof read my product pages and itās been great. Kind of like if it isnāt easy for an AI to paraphrase then I need to do some tweaking
Yeah good points, Iāll get into it eventually. I think Iām just allergic to new trends (at least I dodged a bullet with shittok ) but this one might be a good oneā¦
I have Copilot at work, is it any good?
I have access to copilot through work and Iām not a huge fan of it
Itās all in how you use the tools⦠do you forgo learning how to get around your city and leave it to GPS or do you use GPS to get to know your city better? Do you leave the spelling up to spell check or challenge yourself to get no red underlines as you type?
Granted the more capable the tool the more temptation to simply forgo bettering yourself.
I feel like a majority of people do when I see how they write and read maps (or rather canāt read them)
And itās not just a matter of being able itās also about wanting to. I would never go to a new place without pulling out the gps. And ever since I got to use a dishwasher I hate doing the dishes, they werenāt a big deal before.
How about the calculator? Me (and a vast majority) suck at doing math on the spot. Not because we donāt know how but because weāve lost the habit.
So what if your calculator also takes your hand for more important things?
Attention spans are dropping like crazy due to social media. I donāt see why AI wouldnāt have that kind of impact on reflexion.
I never thought I would be arguing against AI
Just to be clear my overall opinion is I donāt give a progress happens, you canāt stop it
Haha absolutely⦠there will be a significant portion of the population that will simply tune out and become worse off for it. Thatās the bell curve. There will be people who abstain on the far left of the curve and people who use it purely to benefit themselves in society on the far right. The vast majority in are going to be the dummed down masses. This is the messy reality of biology and evolution and āfree willā. I put free will and quotes because I personally believe in a deterministic universe even with quantum action we canāt quite measure or understand perfectly, but also because the older I get the more typical and predictable I see human behavior being, including my own.
This looks like ML applied right. Not to hand off an entire process of human decision making to an artificially personified machine, but rather to break down mundane processes into small functional steps with fine grained modular choices made available to the human operator. Donāt automate away human decision making, automate the execution of human decision making.
(Also, I love her desktop design and its clock.)
Exactly how I feel.
