At least where Iām at, you can get pretty much anything you want in small quantities, or at least something that can be transferred into something you want. This excludes the big bad angry guys like Plutonium, but Gallium? Want .5kg of that? Sure bud just pay us like $50

See, the funny thing is I donāt think Iām actually going to use itā¦ right now, leaning towards using the drape etc for my upcoming apex flex (wink wink) install and keeping the injector and implant around as an explainer for the uninitiated - much easier to visualize when itās outside the body.
also, Iām way, way too far down this rabbit hole and starting to think about the problem of running out of install locationsā¦ so getting a single function implant when the NExT2 (soooooonā¢ļø!!!) / xMagic / etc exist seems kinda silly to me.
For $20 (I was going to get a KBR1 anyway, so the bundle bumped down the price a bit), itāll serve nicely for that purposeā¦

Long story short, went to the Doctor, she wants to run an MRI to confirm something (itās minor), and so we had to have The Talk.
Magnets, Implants, What theyāre for and why I have them.
Turns out she was suprisingly chill about the whole thing. I live in a very hillbilly area with ALOT of judgey church types. Frankly, I kinda dreaded bringing it up, cause I didnāt know how sheād react.
She was off her game for a few seconds clearly, asked a couple of questions, and then was fully in the, thatās really cool camp. Also, she instantly killed the MRI idea and sent me for an X-ray instead.
Apparently I scored the āweirdist thing somebody had brought up this weekā award. Makes me wonder what it takes to make the yearly award. Then again, people being people, I probably donāt want to know.
Damn, wish I wouldāve thought to ask if I coulda got my hands x-rayed too. Oh, well. Next time maybe.

Trying so very very hard not to rant right now.
I need a 2080ti gpu (modded) thatās mostly available from china, there are a few higher priced units on the secondary market (ebay) in the U.S. I have found one U.S. based reseller who claims to have product in stock (California).
AND some giant dumbass cheeto colored idiot just slapped a 54% tarrif on chinese imports.
A chinese card is 385.00 + 54% = 592 dollars and will take a month to get here.
The California importer is 529.00, and when I tried to buy, it popped up asā¦ a month wait. They must be planning to import, which means the tariff applies. SO, I donāt know if the previous 20% tarrif is built in, or if itās gonna go way up to the new 54%, but either way, fuck me thatās alot of money to wait a month on.
My only option is Ebay, and I just paid 600 for one thatāll be delivered next week. Thing is, I bet the price for them jumps up soon, so probably best that I bought when I did.
Fuck that dumbass and his goddamned, shit brained, self absorbed, vain glorious, moronic understanding of how the real fucking world works and the actual pain that he causes people who JUST ARENāT HIM.

Hey all. Iām trying to go through and catch up on everything Iāve missed. I was recently hospitalized and they wanted an MRI, but I told them I had magnets and RFID stuff in my hands. Said some of them are MRI safe, and some are not. Ortho really wanted the MRI though, so before they axed the idea, they took xrays of my hands and arms to see exactly what was up with me. Perhaps they thought I came from that one thread and thought about taking me to the 4th floor.
I asked for copies of all the xrays, but they said it may take a while to get the CD snail mailed to me. So Iāll upload those when I get them. I did want to share the radiologistās findings though that I got a small laugh from. I didnāt meet one medical professional that wasnāt curious, they all seemed to think it was pretty neat. One ER/ED nurse even wanted to see a picture of an install which was fun!
