Trouble is, nobody follows my local laws. Which is fair I guess, because my local state doesn’t follow Federal laws. We seem to just make up what the laws are based on who’s paying the most taxes and whether or not anyone’s looking. (But then maybe everywhere’s like that?)

Not really, no. Electric intrigued me due to the removal of all the complexity that has arisen in the combustion engine.

We’ve had a series of storms roll through the past week so I haven’t been able to get a picture. The storms are good for watering but bad because it probably washed out some of the seed.

Haven’t done a mow yet but all of the new seed has taken and filled in nicely.

Hmm, do the space goats need to be alive upon arrival? I can kill two birds (goats?) with one stone and launch goats into space with a homemade rocket. I am unlikely to be able to properly seal the goat compartment so it is unlikely goats will survive space for long.

There’s this notion that to be cashless you need to tie up to a bank.
You don’t really need to.

All you need is a specific app, or a setup from a top up card and a digital wallet app…

Or we can just observe what happens spontaneously in some countries as well:

VIPPS in Norway,
a p2p payment used in Brazil which I forgot the name
or my favourite, how some places in Africa, such as Ghana, monetized telephone minutes. because you can buy and sell back minutes with the mobile company it’s common to buy a bunch of minutes, then travel without money (safer), get to the other end and sell back the minutes for cash…

And this grew so much that people don’t even bother taking cash out, they just transfer the equivalent minutes to each other. Fully cashless and without any banking in the middle.

Main point is… there is no need for that fissure, other than lack of understanding of the situation from the very politicians swinging their agenda dicks around

the last 20% takes 80% longer than the first 80% of the project.

For me it’s like I strive for the first 30. Then I get bored or don’t have parts to complete the project. So I’ve order them and lose interest. Find interest two months later and get to 90%. And I’ll either call it done or finish it two months later.

For me it’s definitely a game of striking while the iron is hot. While I have motivation.

In my search of a usable portable computer (that hopefully doesn’t cost a ton ) I came across 3 possible directions and wondering if anyone have hands-on experience with any of them?

• Option1: 7 or 8 in windows laptop (specially looking at the Crelander). They’re expensive, but full fledge?
• Option2: thin client with a small screen but no battery (and no keyboard) (some do have battery)I’m looking at something like the HIGOLE PC. They’re much cheaper, but no keyboard
• option3: the uConsole definitely cool points and running Linux on a computer module. No rj45 (I’ll miss it) definitely more repairable and upgradable.

I got my hands on some Bambu filament and I’m surprised that it uses mifare classic chips. I suspect that I’m missing something and it’s actually a better chip emulating mifare classic.

TagInfo states that it’s a MF1S50.

I should probably write a rickroll into my filament spools…

I’m pretty sure they are not Mifare Classic chips… I think they are next gen Mifare Plus chips with improved security…

edit… wait… I think I messed around with these in the past and I seem to recall they might be smartcard chips with Mifare Classic emulation turned on… but the actual application they use for tracking filament use etc. is a secure JavaCard applet… will have to take another look at this.
