Hello MonstaTek M1 Backers,

Fulfillment is currently ongoing. We would like to provide some further explanation on our manufacturing partnership. Because our factory produces goods for many clients, we cannot simply flip a switch to start assembly whenever we choose. This means tasks like final assembly or laser etching cannot happen instantly, they must wait until our next scheduled slot when the lines are set up specifically for our devices .

While our manufacturing capacity is limited and scheduled in allocated windows, we are working steadily within those windows to ensure every reward is completed and delivered.

We also want to update everyone about our recent production pause. We temporarily paused production while waiting for FCC certification. Only after we received the FCC grant could the units proceed to final laser etching. Once the grant was received, we also needed to wait for the factory to schedule our allocated production line time again, since contract manufacturing schedules are shared across multiple customers.

We were able to resume after the New Year. As we previously let everyone the government shutdown and subsequent delay in certification caused some difficultly in scheduling.

As we continue through this phase, we want to provide a detailed overview of the shipping logistics and what to expect as each batch moves through transit.

Asia: Units have shipped.

USA: Initial units have shipped. Fulfillment for remaining batches is ongoing.

Regional Logistics and Transit Estimates

We are using Easyship to coordinate carrier options and regional dispatch through a regional hub based model.

Please note: The timelines below represent the estimated transit time after a batch leaves our factory. “Factory dispatch” means the point when a completed batch departs the factory, not the moment when tracking is issued. Tracking may be issued either at factory dispatch or after the batch is received and processed at the regional hub, depending on the carrier and local intake workflow.have

We are providing these guidelines from EasyShip to give you a clear understanding of the logistics steps. These estimates reflect the standard process, though actual transit times may vary.

USA

Logistics Path: Factory > Los Angeles Hub > Final Destination.

Status: Initial units have shipped; subsequent batches will follow this route.

Timeline Estimates:

International Transit and Customs: Approximately 7 to 10 days

Warehouse Processing: 3 to 5 business days

Final Delivery: 2 to 5 business days

Total Transit Time: Approximately 2 to 3 weeks from factory dispatch, depending on customs clearance timing and the regional hub intake queue.

Canada

Logistics Path: Factory > Canada Hub > Final Destination.

Methodology: We are utilizing a Canadian distribution hub to manage import duties effectively and to simplify the final delivery leg within Canada. Please also note that the Canadian government requires additional registration documentation for certain shipments, and this documentation must be completed as part of the import process. In some cases, this can add additional processing time during clearance, even when the shipment is already in transit or has arrived at the hub.

Timeline Estimates:

International Transit and Customs: Approximately 10 to 14 days (includes clearance into Canada, and any required registration documentation steps)

Warehouse Processing: 2 to 3 business days

Final Delivery: 2 to 9 business days

Total Transit Time: Approximately 3 to 4 weeks from factory dispatch.

South America

Logistics Path: Factory > Los Angeles Hub > International Courier > Final Destination.

Methodology: Orders are routed through the US hub in Los Angeles, then dispatched individually via international carriers. South America shipments often move in consolidated batches to the Los Angeles hub first, which can add scheduling variability before individual parcels are handed off to international carriers.

Timeline Estimates:

Arrival at US Hub: Approximately 10 to 14 days

Transit to Destination: 2 to 4 weeks (heavily dependent on local customs clearance and local carrier processing)

Total Transit Time: Approximately 4 to 6 weeks from factory dispatch.

Note: If you are in Asia (excluding India , Japan and Korea)and have not received your tracking number or package shortly, please check your email spam folder or contact us. Tracking may be issued either at dispatch or after the local carrier intake step, so there can be a brief delay between shipment movement and the tracking email depending on the specific carrier workflow.

Additional Notes for Specific Countries in Asia

Indonesia: Backers in Indonesia, please contact us at support@monstatek.com. We will require Tax ID number verification in order to complete the shipment process.

India: For backers in India, units may need to be moved to a later stage of fulfillment due to the current customs situation. We will provide updates as soon as we have clearer confirmation on processing requirements and timing.

We appreciate your patience and support as we move through production and fulfillment. We will continue to share updates as additional batches leave the factory and enter regional hubs.

Thank you,

MonstaTek Team

Well I just came home to a hell of a surprise!

So the UI leaves a little to be desired. It functions fine, but the icons of course are not as flashy as the flipper. I’m sure though improve in an update though.

RFID, NFC, And subghz work well. It recognized every NFC tag I gave it, but it wouldn’t recognize my AWID RFID card. My NExT in EM mode read fine though. Nfc strength is pretty weak, but I’m going to put one of @Hamspiced ‘s repeater stickers on there and see if it improves.

SubGHZ worked extremely well, although it is limited to recording and playback right now. No identification of what the protocol is. Just raw record and playback.

As far as Wi-Fi goes, I can scan for networks, but I cannot connect to them as it says I need to update the firmware first. Quite a few functions say that I have to update the firmware before I can use that feature.

I’m assuming there’s already a newer version of firmware but I can’t get it. The user’s guide tells me to go to https://update.monstatek.com/ But I just get a DNS resolution error.

Yeah I plan to make a couple boards for it when I get mine

Awesome it’s arrived! I’m curious about battery longevity

that’s the first time I’ve heard this phrase to describe a negative.. usually it’s “leaves little to be desired”, i.e. it’s damn near perfect. i skimmed this at first so I was confused as to why you say it’s great then hope the update improves things

Here’s how it looks with the black silicone case.

Very incognito. You can’t see any of the clear shell.

Hello Everyone,

As your units arrive, we want to address one thing you’ll likely notice, and give you a clear picture of where the M1 stands today.

About update.monstatek.com

You’ll see this URL in your printed Quick Start Guide. It isn’t live yet. The guide went to print before launch to satisfy certification requirements, and at the time, including the final portal address felt like a smart, future-proof move — the kind of decision that looks great on a whiteboard. In practice, it means you’re holding a manual that references a website that doesn’t exist yet. Sorry, we jumped the gun on that one.

In the meantime, our public repo is open at GitHub - Monstatek/M1: Monstatek M1 Open Source Repository. when firmware updates are ready, they’ll be routed through there for now.

We’ll also announce the moment the web updater is live.

What’s working right now

The short answer: almost everything. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s live in the current firmware:

125 kHz RFID — Read, write, emulate, save, and load tags. Supports EM4100 and HID H10301 protocols, plus T5577 write capability.

NFC (13.56 MHz) — Read, emulate, and edit tags. Save and load .nfc files, view detailed tag info, and manage your saved files directly on the device.

Infrared — Learn and save remotes, load saved profiles, and transmit and receive IR signals. Universal Remote Profiles are present in the firmware and will be fully activated within the next 3–5 weeks.

Sub-GHz — Record, replay, and read RF signals across frequencies.

Bluetooth — Scan for nearby devices and advertise the M1.

WiFi — Scan for available access points.

USB — Virtual COM port and mass storage mode both supported.

If you’ve poked around the current firmware, you’ve probably noticed that the Tools, Utilities, and Config submenus currently show “Please Update Firmware” — that’s the first glimpse at what’s ahead. Those menus are where new tools and functions will land as we roll them out. We’ll be announcing each one right here in the campaign updates as they come.

The M1 is designed to get more capable over time. More functions, more tools, more applications.

Need help?

If anything isn’t behaving as expected during setup, please reach out at suppport@monstatek.com

Thanks for being part of this from the start.

Hello Everyone

We want to provide a an update for EU, Australia, RoW, military, and non continental US backers.

Estimated Timelines
All dates mentioned below are estimates based on current certification progress and fulfillment pacing. These are not guaranteed delivery dates. We will continue adjusting as milestones are completed.

European Union
EU shipments remain dependent on CE RED certification. That process is currently in progress. Once certification is finalized, EU orders will begin dispatching in sequence by region and backer number. We are currently estimating EU fulfillment to begin in April assuming there are no certification delays.

Australia
Australia shipments are pending RCM certification. Units cannot leave the fulfillment center until this clearance is complete. We are currently estimating certification in April. Once approved, Australian orders will begin shipping in sequence by backer number.

Outside the Continental United States
US destinations outside the continental United States including Puerto Rico and other territories require additional processing. These orders are currently estimated to dispatch by mid next month, processed in sequence by backer number.

Military Addresses
Orders shipping to APO, FPO, and DPO military addresses require special handling. Lithium ion batteries cannot be shipped through standard channels to these addresses. If you are using a military address, please contact support@monstatek.com so we can review your order and coordinate proper handling.

Rest of World
Rest of World fulfillment includes the Middle East, Africa, and East Asia. We will provide a detailed update on these regions in the next update within the next 7 to 10 days.

Fulfillment Sequence Clarification
Fulfillment is processed in sequence by backer number within each region.

There was a small batch of fewer than 40 higher backer number orders that were mistakenly released early by the fulfillment center for the USA. This was an error on their end and does not reflect a change in sequencing. All remaining orders continue to move in proper order.

Tracking details are sent automatically to the email connected to your Kickstarter pledge once your unit is dispatched.

We will continue sharing updates as certification milestones are completed and additional fulfillment waves begin.
