What are you making ⚒️ / 3D printing 🖨

Can I use it as an example on the repo?

Definitely!
I’ve got a few other colors I can print out a few of them and line them all up or pile them up in one picture as well if you’d like.

Sure! If you’re not gonna use them then you could also send them my way and I will be able to offer some choice in colors and I will send an assembled on back to you

Sounds good to me!
I know what I’m doing for the rest of the day then XD
I’ve got a few spools that are getting low so it’s the perfect project to use them up!
I’ve got a print going right now though that’ll probably take another 2 hours before I start.

I’m charging up my knock off GoPro’s batteries and got a new SD card coming tonight as well. I’ll try to make a vid of the prints too just for fun but if you want it. I haven’t filmed prints before so I want to start experimenting with it.

If you’ve got pretty bad humidity, look into a dehumidifier or filament dryer

 This

Will make all the difference. Humidity will soak into your filament and make it print awful. Also, storing filament in an airtight container with desiccant packets when not in use will help as well.

Set up 11 sets of the pico in one stl. Got 23 printed, and have another 11 going right now in a different color.

Before I pull the trigger on it, does anyone have opinions on the Anycubic Photon Mono 4k vs the Creality Halot-One resin printers? I’ve narrowed it down to those two for their budget friendly price and both come in a bundle with a wash/curing station.

I can only speak to the Mars 2 pro

If you can avoid a resin printer with a chitu board I would try, chitu seems to be doubling down on trying to software lock hardware again

You only get to use wifi if you slice it with chitu box paid etc

I wouldn’t spend the money on a super fine resolution unless it’s a large printer…. I’ve watched a few comparisons and there’s almost no perceived difference

Obviously if you go bigger you need more resolution to maintain pixel density tho

Saw that. I understand having more control over the hardware and software could make it easier and more plug n play for people just getting into 3D printing, but it’s shitty when you’re locking down everything and forcing people into subscriptions.
I’m starting small so I don’t need to buy another desk for more room so I’m sticking with the smaller 4k ones. If I start using it a lot, then I’ll look into a larger 8k one possibly.

I’ve used an older Anycubic Foton. I don’t know about the printers that you mentioned but I’d recommend getting a flexible bed if possible. Resins tend to stick really well.

I should look into the software side of resin as the proprietary chinise slicers are one of the reasons why I don’t own a resin printer.

That’s good to know!
I saw some videos of people leaving the print on the plate, taking the plate off and throwing into the alcohol wash and UV curing containers, then taking the plate off and curing it one more time.

My Mars 2 pro isn’t even 4k and it’s resolution is better than my eyes… and I do visual quality inspection

Im very (very) new to resin printer …
Ive done it a few times, it works well when i dont want to make a mess of the area or im worried about splashing resin everywhere. But the bed needs to fully dry before you can pint again …

If you give me till I get home tonight I’ll post some videos of my setup,

I do like what you mentioned above

I print, let it drip in machine afterwards at an angle

I have a printed piece that acts as a step in my wash and cure station

Step the entire built plate in the wash, let it clean

Then I scrap off build plate

Then I remove supports (hot water soak is :fire:)

And small touch up to remove burs or zits

Put in uv cure

That would be awesome! Thank you!

I get home around 3:15am est

I’ve got some minis I need to print anyways, so I’ll do a full run through my process

Multiple small videos, with text because I hate my recorded voice

Sweet! I appreciate it!
Yeah, I’ve always wanted to start a YT channel and make a bunch of videos, but I’ve never liked the sound of my own voice. Been thinking recently about using some sort of text to speech, but I’ve got nothing to make videos of after I got laid off from my tower climbing job lol

Phones are incredibly capable video recording devices if you’re subbing in the audio.

That would be a red flag for me, and out of principle, FUCK THEM!

Problem is, chitu corp was smart… they made good and cheap boards… and waited till they had very heavy market saturation and reliance

…then decided to pull this kind of shit…

They tried this a year or 2 ago and the community got pissed and they didn’t roll it back, but made a few compromise efforts…

So now it’s the same shit again

This is why I bought a bought a Mars 2 and not the Mars 3, and probably won’t get anything newer
